Pay with Dict8

juju1507 · 09/03/2015 09:19

I have been working s/e with Dict8 for 3 years now and my payment by cheques are arriving later and later. My last cheque arrived 8 days after it was issued and I noticed they are now sending cheques second class. Does anyone else work for Dict8 on here and, if so, are you finding that your cheque is arriving much later than it used to? I have direct debits set up deliberately for the middle of the month in order that my cheque would have cleared in time but now I am worrying that even by 15th of each month the cheque will not have cleared. Sorry for the ramble but just curious if others have noticed this.

I got an email yesterday inviting me for a telephone call next week when the lady is back from holiday, all sounds good.....

Freespirit19 · 05/03/2020 09:33

Fingers crossed 🤞

smiffypeabrain · 05/03/2020 09:35

I sent my CV off about 10 days ago. Not received an email. Hopefully they are working through them.

Gally123 · 05/03/2020 09:43

I emailed yesterday just to check they had received my CV okay as use Internet Explorer as my browser and some companies no longer operate on this. Had an email reply shortly afterwards apologising for delay due to large amount of recent applications!

Am considering my options - their pay level seems the same more or less as DICT8 - but work/pay is better than no work/pay.

Chrissols · 05/03/2020 10:30

I have had four short tasks this morning, all less than 2 minutes, and now there is absolutely nothing available

smiffypeabrain · 05/03/2020 10:45

Chrissols, I feel your pain. I hope DICT8 picks up or Tpro works out for us all.

juju1507 · 08/03/2020 09:45

Morning @Chrissols @smiffypeabrain @Gally123 and any other ladies looking to pick up more work. Just a heads up, I sent my CV over to Transcription Divas three weeks ago. I've received an email this morning advising they are on a recruitment drive at this very moment asking if I was still interested. I'm not going for it at the moment as I have found that I have earned loads this week with T-Pro but I do sometimes put in 10 hour days! However, thought you lovely lot should know about Transcription Divas. x

Thanks @juju1507 will keep that in mind. I am getting a call from T-Pro this week so will see what they say first. By the way, do T-Pro need you to work every day? I have just taken on a couple of days at hospital to make ends meet? Having said that, I would far prefer to work from home

juju1507 · 08/03/2020 10:27

@Chrissols I think T-Pro like you to be able to do 25 letters per day once you are established. I think once you get used to the different formatting that different hospitals like, it is plain sailing. When you first start you get given one hospital to work on but you do every speciality going! I've done Endocrinology, Neurology, Dermatology and more. Thank the Lord for Google for finding some medical conditions I have never heard of Grin. I am actually really enjoying it!

That sounds fine, is that Monday to Friday, or could Saturday/Sunday count as days? Sorry to bombard you......

Gally123 · 08/03/2020 11:33

@juju15o7, Thanks -I looked at Transcription Divas but they don't seem to do medical.
@Chrissols - the info I had from T-pro stated a minimum of 150 letters a week, which I make to be 30 a day over five days, though much depends on the length of the letters, but you could do 75 over two days etc. I am still deciding - not sure about having to put your bank details on every emailed invoice - is this secure?

juju1507 · 08/03/2020 11:38

Happy to help if I can...You can work any day of the week including weekends as all work goes through their Quality Control until they are happy to let us loose. So any work done stays in their QC hold until checked which is usually checked daily. I have 21 letters typed from Friday which are awaiting QC checking which will be done tomorrow. I'm going to do some work a bit later today as husband at work and daughter at friend's house. It seems to work well so far!

Sounds great, fingers crossed x

Gally123 · 12/03/2020 10:24

Anybody else think that the email DICT8 sent out last night was a little odd? There has been no mention of cancelled clinics etc in the news and yet typing has been very poor recently and again today there is virtually nothing.

When Flybe went into administration they blamed the virus whereas other people mentioned that they had been in trouble for some time and were was just using the situation as something to blame, and I wonder if DICT8 are doing the same thing. I wonder if they sent out the email to stop all the people enquiring as to where the work has gone to recently.

sepiol · 12/03/2020 10:31

Yes very strange email yesterday

Although there won't be any work for us, I'm sure everyone is relieved to know that DICT8 will be just fine Grin

smiffypeabrain · 12/03/2020 10:32

Blame the virus for the lack of work?

I thought there actually might be more work available for us if staff need to self-isolate, take time off to look after children if schools close etc. It would be easier off-loading the typing to ensure a swift turnaround of work. On the other hand, secretaries might work from home and therefore do their own typing.

Chrissols · 12/03/2020 10:52

I thought it might increase work as well, I can’t understand at present why it would decrease

IamVictoria · 12/03/2020 10:57

I suppose if they do have to cancel all the outpatient clinics it would impact heavily on the workload. But I agree with @sepiol - we might starve but at least Dict8 will go on!

Chrissols · 12/03/2020 11:36

I bet everyone is relieved to hear dict8 will be just fine, we can rest easy knowing that........

Lucylizzy123 · 12/03/2020 13:21

Great day to bury bad news?! How convenient to post this now. If no work over the coming months I am sure they will start worrying about their jobs too.

Lucylizzy123 · 12/03/2020 13:23

By the way, no work on the system today. I am unaware of clinics/theatres being cancelled at present, so how is this impacting Dict8 already?

smiffypeabrain · 12/03/2020 14:01

It has been almost three weeks and I have still not heard from Tpro. Has everybody had a response now or, like me, still waiting to hear?

Chrissols · 12/03/2020 16:02

I got an email from T-Pro and a couple of test tasks, but it did take quite a while to come through.

deewu · 13/03/2020 15:51

I haven't received this email from Dict8, thought it might be in the junk folder but no. I get the gist of it but is anyone willing to share?

Chrissols · 13/03/2020 16:08

The email was just stating that due to coronavirus work may decline as clinics will be cancelled, but says not to worry as it will come back.
