Reclaim the Night Nottingham, Saturday 7 Nov 2026 female only
📅 Date: Saturday 7th November 2026
⏰ Time: 6.45pm
📍 Start Point: Sneinton Market

Reclaim the Night Nottingham 2026 is a female-only march. Over the last decade it has historically involved men and men who say they are women. This has distracted from the core message of ending Male Violence Against Women and Girls (MVAWAG). But not this year.

After the usual group announced it would not be running an event this year grassroots women have come together around a shared sex-based understanding of women’s rights, safety and the need to tackle male violence against women and girls to run Reclaim The Night Nottingham 2026.

This is a strictly female-only march. We ask that all male allies show their solidarity from home by supporting our message online and challenging misogynistic behaviour in their own spaces. We know decent men will do this.

Whilst we respect some women may hold different views and they are free to express them lawfully, disagreement does not give them the right to take over or deliberately disrupt an event organised around a particular purpose especially if they are there to promote males who say they are women.

This march is about ending male violence against women and girls. In order to name and challenge violence against women and girls and name and challenge our perpetrators we must use sex-based language.

Bring your banners, your placards, your torches, and your voices. Let’s light up the night together.

Please help us spread the word to all those in the East Midlands and beyond. Nottingham is very well connected by train, bus and car.

We look forward to seeing you!

Well done women!
Reclaim Reclaim the Night.
Last year Nottingham Women's Centre lead chants of "transwomen are women" on a march for....women!?

ArabellaScott · 20/10/2026 21:30

Wishing you all the very best. 💜

Hedgehogforshort · 20/10/2026 21:37

Thedogscollar · 20/10/2026 21:50

So bloody sad we have to do this. Goodluck for the march and I hope your message is spoken far and wide.

GreyskySexRealistsky · 20/10/2026 21:57

Fantastic, wish I could be there. Hope it all goes well and you don't get any shit from TRAs, who are very vocal in Notts 💜

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/10/2026 22:38

Good luck with the March! Reclaim! ❤️

B9waiting · 20/10/2026 22:44

NottsRtN · 20/10/2026 22:50

Hope the march goes well, I'll only be there in spirit but well done to you all and 3 cheers to you. 💜 🎶

It is absolutely dreadful these marches are necessary.

I was actually just asking someone a week or so ago if they remembered the Reclaim the night events because I hadn't heard of one being held for so long. And so many of us are conditioned into feeling afraid, with good reason, to leave our homes in the evenings. And, tbh , having to avoid isolated places during the day.

Well done you and all the women who attend.

CompleteGinasaur · 21/10/2026 09:41

Absolutely brilliant, thanks so much for reclaiming this particular night. I am a Nottingham resident, and whenever I've seen the publicity for this for the last decade or so it has given me the absolute rage. Will definitely be attending this. Now, who's for taking back the Women's Centre for, you know, actual women?!

FemaleAndLearning · 21/10/2026 09:54

So pleased to see this. It sickens me to see Reclaim the Night fronted by men who say they are women and intersectional feminists who refuse to acknowledge that women are adult human females.

One night to come together to say let's end male violence against women and girls. I see a certain mummy mimmy has called for the event to be harassed and taken over. What a traitorous woman.

MarieDeGournay · 21/10/2026 11:01

The old saying 'the good men stay out so the bad men stand out' can be applied here.

'Decent blokes' know where and when they aren't wanted, they understand, they don't take it personally, and they respect the social context which makes it necessary for some social groups to sometimes organise on their own.

I wouldn't dream of gate-crashing my local Men's Shed, or harass men attending a Men's Mental Health group. They have their own issues, they deserve their own space to discuss them, and good luck to them!

Best of luck with the march and I hope it is fully respected by all.💜💚

I don't know who you mean, but I'm not surprised to hear that opposition is being planned. That idiot Nadia Witless will no doubt be supporting them. These people really do not care about women at all.

Why am I not surprised!
Disgusting- women can't protest against MVAWG without other women objecting!
Sickening. They should be ashamed.

It's such odd behaviour. Imagine hearing about a group wanting to stop VAWG and your first thought is "They must be stopped!"

Says such a lot about the type of person they are.

Yes, in fact it's more than odd. We even see it on this board: "I'm a feminist and against all VAWG...but I'm going to support this male TRA who clearly hates real women and advocates VAWG".

I just don't know how these women make it add up.

So I guess they stepped back this year as they couldn’t cope with excluding men.

FemaleAndLearning · 21/10/2026 16:13

Sorry being cryptic. Because don't want the name to be flagged up or my post yo be taken down. Famous mummy who has a son who used to cycle in female category. She is very active on blue Skye. Shameful bullying of grassroots women defending sex-based male violence against females. We know the consequences of sending people after women. Thinking here of Anne Widdicombe.

IwantToRetire · 21/10/2026 18:31

This is fantastic in so many ways!

So good to hear that there are still parts of the UK where local women and meeting up and organising.

As well has creating an important women only event for other women in the area.

Hope all goes well.

I am sure it will.

IwantToRetire · 21/10/2026 18:34

Just an after thought.

Is this maybe because groups like Nottingham Women's Centre which organised previous marches and is aggressively trans inclusive, has actually accepted that cant advertise events as for women if they then include men?

Pretty sure that's a big part of it, @IwantToRetire, but the fact that the organiser of the previous march was also the CEO of the Women's Centre but is no longer in that post may have something to do with it..

Reclaim the Night marches have been happening every year of decades. And been the topic of discussion on FWR.

This is because like so many other events that were successful, not just for being women only, but focusing on a core issue for women, male violence.

So many universities now have student unions organising RTN marches, usually with no reference to they being traditionally held as part of the 16 Days of Action Against Violence Against Women.

Some councils now organise them. As to Unions. So the messaging is very different.

See list for some RTNs in 2025 https://www.womensgrid.org.uk/?s=Reclaim+the+Night

Last we heard the Nottngham Women's Centre were still consulting their lawyers about their polices that allow men into their female only service!
