Reclaim the Night Nottingham, Saturday 7 Nov 2026 female only
📅 Date: Saturday 7th November 2026
⏰ Time: 6.45pm
📍 Start Point: Sneinton Market

Reclaim the Night Nottingham 2026 is a female-only march. Over the last decade it has historically involved men and men who say they are women. This has distracted from the core message of ending Male Violence Against Women and Girls (MVAWAG). But not this year.

After the usual group announced it would not be running an event this year grassroots women have come together around a shared sex-based understanding of women’s rights, safety and the need to tackle male violence against women and girls to run Reclaim The Night Nottingham 2026.

This is a strictly female-only march. We ask that all male allies show their solidarity from home by supporting our message online and challenging misogynistic behaviour in their own spaces. We know decent men will do this.

Whilst we respect some women may hold different views and they are free to express them lawfully, disagreement does not give them the right to take over or deliberately disrupt an event organised around a particular purpose especially if they are there to promote males who say they are women.

This march is about ending male violence against women and girls. In order to name and challenge violence against women and girls and name and challenge our perpetrators we must use sex-based language.

Bring your banners, your placards, your torches, and your voices. Let’s light up the night together.

Please help us spread the word to all those in the East Midlands and beyond. Nottingham is very well connected by train, bus and car.

We look forward to seeing you!

Oh my, that is so funny. How do you hijack something by women for women that wasn't running?

Yes the other group includes men. This Reclaim the Night excludes men. As far as I can see none of the advertising uses the word Terf or TERFs. Once again women asserting their biological rights and their right to associate and gather under the Protected Characteristic of sex are being bullied and having targets put on our backs.

These men and their female followers are so entitled. Men who say they are women claiming women are hijacking an event for women because men are excluded. The abusive gaslighting is unreal.

The cognitive dissonance is off the scale.

If you know woman are adult human females, that humans cannot change sex and that women and girls are entitled to female only single-sex spaces, services and facilities then you also know that we need to end male violence against women and girls.

Let's Reclaim The Night.
By Women For Women

Would be cool if Sex Matters did give us a shout out!! Would makes a change from those American Christians here hee!

Denying that trans women are also predated on by men, is shameful.

Trans women are vulnerable on the streets, to traffickers and transphobia. My God how petty, ridiculous and nasty.

Firstly, no one on this thread has made that assertion. Mainly because we aren't discussing the subject of transwomen's safety or lack therof at all.

The discussion is about WOMEN. Remember us? Over half the population. You must have seen some around the place.

Secondly, There is no proof that transwomen are predated on by men - certainly not in the manner or numbers (per capita) that women are. Transphobia is not the same thing as VAWG or misogyny in general.

Can we not have ANYTHING for ourselves? Leave us alone.

The TRAs have zero self awareness.
Chastised women for holding an event with a name that women own and then claiming they will do the same!?

They can't let women have anything without ruining it.

Well said. That's the core of transactivism. Trash anything belonging to women, violate boundaries, mangle language and history. Plus for added frisson, target children below the age of consent with incoherent and dangerous beliefs that will cause them immense harm.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 22/10/2026 19:07

They're so delusional, they hijack an event off women and then when women reclaim the event they claim they're the victims. Such cry bullying is why people don't like them.

IwantToRetire · 22/10/2026 19:20

Also worth remembering that these few stalwarts who post anti women's sex based rights are mainly doing it to derail threads, so more often than not better to not even acknowledge and just continue posting from a pro woman, pro sex based rights perspective.

Then the thread itself is an example of highlighting what is important to women.

IMO!

I wish you all the best, but women have never owned the night in the sense of being completely safe. Samuel Pepys could not let unaccompanied women drive home at night in the seventeenth century; Fanny Burney was stranded at the theatre, a short walk from her home, when she lost sight of her friends - impossible to walk home alone or even take a chair or hack on her own.
I wish it were otherwise and I think things have got worse. In my long past youth I travelled alone at night on the London Underground in perfect safety - I would not do it now.

Ohdearherewego · Today 09:40

It will be great to have another women only event.
Brilliant work by the organisers.
See you there
