Reclaim the Night Nottingham, Saturday 7 Nov 2026 female only
📅 Date: Saturday 7th November 2026
⏰ Time: 6.45pm
📍 Start Point: Sneinton Market

Reclaim the Night Nottingham 2026 is a female-only march. Over the last decade it has historically involved men and men who say they are women. This has distracted from the core message of ending Male Violence Against Women and Girls (MVAWAG). But not this year.

After the usual group announced it would not be running an event this year grassroots women have come together around a shared sex-based understanding of women’s rights, safety and the need to tackle male violence against women and girls to run Reclaim The Night Nottingham 2026.

This is a strictly female-only march. We ask that all male allies show their solidarity from home by supporting our message online and challenging misogynistic behaviour in their own spaces. We know decent men will do this.

Whilst we respect some women may hold different views and they are free to express them lawfully, disagreement does not give them the right to take over or deliberately disrupt an event organised around a particular purpose especially if they are there to promote males who say they are women.

This march is about ending male violence against women and girls. In order to name and challenge violence against women and girls and name and challenge our perpetrators we must use sex-based language.

Bring your banners, your placards, your torches, and your voices. Let’s light up the night together.

Please help us spread the word to all those in the East Midlands and beyond. Nottingham is very well connected by train, bus and car.

We look forward to seeing you!

Last we heard the Nottngham Women's Centre were still consulting their lawyers about their polices that allow men into their female only service!

Thanks that's really interesting. They were one of the first women's centres to be totally upfront about being trans inclusive. Which although sad is better than "women's" groups that lied about being trans inclusive because they believe that TWAW!

Not doing this to promote UN Women, but this is a link to the 16 Days of Action

Fantastic news, I hope you get a good turnout. I'm away so can't make it sadly.

Reclaim the Night marches have been happening every year of decades. And been the topic of discussion on FWR.

This is because like so many other events that were successful, not just for being women only, but focusing on a core issue for women, male violence.

So many universities now have student unions organising RTN marches, usually with no reference to they being traditionally held as part of the 16 Days of Action Against Violence Against Women.

Some councils now organise them. As to Unions. So the messaging is very different.

See list for some RTNs in 2025 https://www.womensgrid.org.uk/?s=Reclaim+the+Night

Thank you for the link. That is really interesting. I'm older generation and live a very isolated life and had no idea about these events.

As an older feminist I think the ways feminists kept in touch changed.

Or maybe there wasn't the same sense of being part of some wider movement.

And then what got into mainstream media, or even taken up by a local council as being feminist, just didn't connect.

And somehow the opportunities that being online somehow didn't work for feminism - or some feminism.

But maybe a discussion for a thread?!

Wishing you a rainless evening and lots of (female) attendees.

AMansAManForAllThat · 21/10/2026 22:19

I thought RTN had been transformed into light Night in Nottingham. But I don’t follow the women’s centre here for obvious reasons. We’d been thoroughly queered.

Since 1998 I believe. Women's Centre has been breaking the law this whole time. They need ro rename to The People's Centre.

Denying that trans women are also predated on by men, is shameful.

Trans women are vulnerable on the streets, to traffickers and transphobia. My God how petty, ridiculous and nasty.

Yes but they’re not women are they, so should not be included in campaigns to stop VAWG. Maybe start your own campaign…..
I saw on another thread you accused GC feminists of mankind women unsafe by opposing males in female spaces. Can you explain how allowing males into female spaces will make women safer and what material benefits women (females) will gain from allowing males with a trans identity into their spaces?

TPAs Non Binary. By all accounts VAWG should not affect them not being a woman and all that. They do however like to berate woman who organise things just for women. Even in their world where they divide It into Cis and trans, the cis ones can’t do anything just for themselves apparently.

Yes. And never can explain how allowing males into female spaces benefits women and keeps women (the original kind) safer…. Almost like there is no benefit to women, just to the men…..

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 22/10/2026 06:14

It was quite a toned down scolding for them, usually it's all a literal genocide because,'trans' can't go out or they're committing suicide in their thousands because nobody loves 'em blah, blah, blah. Traffickers is new though.

Are they claiming TIM are being kidnapped on the street and sold? Who by? And why?

BezMark · 22/10/2026 07:06

Men of every kind are at risk from (other) men, in this respect men with cross-sex gender identities are no different to the rest of us.

This is a thread about Women, so men aren't strictly relevant (or needed). Having said that, asaman, I'll duck out again.

Irrelevant.

Constant attempts to devalue women and prioritise men are petty, ridiculous and nasty.

Demands that women cannot have anything unless men can make it theirs are petty, ridiculous and nasty.

What denial? Yet again noone mentioned transwomen. It was merely stated this is a female only event. Transwomen are men.

Funny how you don't mention transmen or non binary females who of course are welcome on the march on account of them bring female. You dive straight in to defend men penetrating a female only event.

If men who say they are women feel they need another men's rights event to add to the calendar I'm sure they can whip one up and get the omnicause protesters out to support them and even get a bigger crowd and then in that totally masculine way shout mine was bigger than yours.

Also, please note Redditors, Nadia is not "the MP for Nottingham" 🙄

She is the MP for one constituency in Nottingham

ArabellaScott · 22/10/2026 15:39

trademark infringment! 😂do any of them know feminists were organising and attending reclaim the night marches before they were twinkles in their creepy elders' eyes?

GreyskySexRealistsky · 22/10/2026 16:16

Yes Arabella.
And do they even know where Reclaim the Night marches started and why? Do they recall (or can they really and truly imagine) that climate of fear?
It's yet another example of TRAs helping themselves to somebody else's history in order to validate and justify themselves.
More appropriation.
Am really angry now.

Thank you for highlighting. We predicted we would make it to Reddit not sure what took them so long. The usual groups have launched a smear campaign, they have called for the opposite of mummy mimmy - to swamp us which is good.

"Our team are also aware of an advertised anti-trans “Reclaim the Night” being hosted in early November. This group has no place co-opting the history and commitment of decades of women for whom Reclaim the Night has been inclusive. We strongly discourage countering this march and instead want to get the best and biggest turnout for the Reclaim the Night event on 22nd November."

Nottingham Against Transphobia is the other group mentioned and is besties with Nadia. this is the group that planned the awful protest against women speaking at Let Women Speak Nottingham. The You Tuber Notts Online got some good coverage of them before the event

This is not a Let Women Speak event we are women from several grassroots organisations in the area.

We just want to be left alone for our female only Reclaim the Night. One night where women can be on the streets as a sex group to say let's end male violence against women and girls.

Will they really leave us alone?

If you don't have your own history because 'transgender' has only existed for the blink of an eye, in historical terms, make something up! nick somebody else's!
You did it with the 1969 Stonewall Riots, so why not appropriate women's history and Reclaim the Night too!
