TLDR version: Sandie Peggie vs Royal College of Nursing is currently being heard. The hearing started on Wednesday 23 September 2026 and is scheduled to end on Thursday 1 October 2026.

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims were of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claimed to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and after a prolonged process judgment was handed down on 8 December 2025. That judgment is being appealed and an appeal hearing is expected to take place in 2027.

Additional legal claims have been raised. Sandie Peggie is taking action against the Royal College of Nursing, against three senior managers who were witnesses in the employment tribunal - Dr Kate Searle, Dr Maggie Currer and Esther Davidson, against Carol Potter, the chief executive of NHS Fife, for victimisation, against NHS Fife for discrimination, and against its director of people and culture David Miller for harassment. In addition, Sandie Peggie is being investigated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council over fitness to practice.

MCD told us that, had she been 65+, Blackpool Victoria Hospital would not have treated her.

Jesus Christ, the Brits are so ageist. No treatment for a MI post 65?! This country is a scary place to get old/er.

That was then. I don’t think it would happen now.

It certainly wouldn’t in my local trust.

KittyWilkinson · 29/09/2026 21:11

@oldtiredcyclist Someone very much matching your user name pulled up to my front door last week and gently placed a cricket ball in the parcel box. Then he cycled away.
I was somewhat bemused by this random act of kindness.

Apparently, he found it while cycling near the club further down the road, and a local told him that my son played for them and to drop it off.
But it did make me smile!

I hadn't realised that Fred Wallace was an RCN member, or that he (used to?) work for the Ambulance Service.
This is from 2021.

Someone later mentioned filters on the photo he used on your post.

Thanks to the Fred thread posted up thread I've found an unfiltered version of that photo

(OK so it's not exactly the same photo but I don't think there's that much time difference in when they were taken).

Unfortunately complaint about it all, and what led to it, is still with the PHSO who have been pissing around in much the same way as the RCN since December 2023!

Pffft, I just looked at the website and it says:
"We're currently dealing with a high volume of complaints. Over the last year, we’ve seen a 31% increase in complaints needing further investigation. We’re working to deal with your complaint as quickly as we can.*"
The mind boggles. Flowers for you. 💐

At one point they refused to respond to an email from me for 9 months!

I have had to resort to sending actual paper letters in envelopes with stamps !! To the top 3 names at the PHSO, And to both office locations so they couldn't claim they hadn't seen it, and more than once!

I'm currently in the "executive team will look at it" queue (since about April)

And to make this thread related ish

"The PHSO is transitioning;

From 1 October 2026, it becomes the Public Service Ombudsman."

From Nick :

"Cunningham then took Fraser to a tweet apparently posted by Wallace in September 2024. This showed Wallace standing semi-naked, wearing fetish gear, apparently receiving oral sex from an unidentifiable man dressed in blue jeans and a yellow shirt. The accompanying text was “Dads worship female penis” [you can find the picture online. I am not going to share it here]."

Oh Naomi! You little devil 😍😍😍😍

ETA:

And...

"Another tweet dated 25 Nov 2025 called the gender critical feminist Helen Staniland “joyless little cunt who deserves the worst punishment”. And another dated 19 Jan this year from a now suspended account declared: “I’m a pervert, a degenerate and an artist.”

He's such a quiet shy demure woman isn't he!

Mmmnotsure · 29/09/2026 22:22

It seems that 'Freda Wallace She/Ra' posted on Bluesky pictures from an event, including one of the RCN flags flying on poles outside the venue.

Alongside this he wrote
Royal College of Nursing - Education on discrimination. I used Dr Upton's case to explain how gender critical organisations target NHS trusts. It was amazing to meet other transgender healthcare professionals.

You couldn't make it up.

murasaki · 29/09/2026 22:24

Wallace will go postal about that. Naughty Naomi!

She looks like a tough cookie. Who may well believe biological women are women but also that her job depends on saying that v v quietly.

Fraser said it wasn’t possible to “police” people’s social media posts.

That’s a new one. You’d think a union officer would be aware of all the employees who’ve been fired for making comments on their private social media.

She doesn't use social media, and was only born yesterday, bless her heart. And yet she is familiar enough with NC to address her as 'Naomi' during cross exam. My arse.

She is very likely using familiar terms because that's what we use, and she'll have seen so much of Naomi on social media that the first name just rolls of her tongue.

Lougle · 29/09/2026 23:25

When I clicked on that link (currently in hospital with DD2) it blocked it and said it would take my data.

Was that on the NHS WiFi? (Dons tinfoil hat 😂)

I think the reason she addresses Naomi using her first name is a technique (she wouldn't address the Judge by her first name). The technique is to attempt to exert higher status over someone potentially wielding power-over, i.e. a person whose status is higher than yours. Using the first name shows a disregard for conventions in addressing professional persons doing their job. It makes difficult questions seem easier to deal with - we're just having a chat eh, you and I, Naomi?

As has been said before - the tin foil hat is a government plot. It actually acts as an antenna, concentrating the mind control waves

Lougle · 29/09/2026 23:42

@SlackJawedDisbeliefXY and @murasaki yes and yes. Do tinfoil hats come in purple, perchance?

Do you have some Tunnocks on hand? Perhaps you could fashion a jaunty red and silver one

It's a sadness, but I do not. I've been here since 2.30pm and have to stay with DD2 (19). Kindly, they've found us a side room, for which I am grateful. Sadly, they do not have a put me up bed, but have found me a stool to rest my feet on overnight. The lights do not dim (two different staff members have been at pains to demonstrate that the light does in fact dim, when it doesn't), and the vending machine did not have a Tunnocks. It had a rather dense and raw tasting flapjack, but the wrapper was cellophane and can make no contribution to the tinfoil hat.

Sorry to hear that, hope you and your DD2 have a restful night.

On the tin hat front - is there a metal wastepaper bin nearby perhaps?

Mmmnotsure · 30/09/2026 00:02

@Lougle Hope your dd is okay and you manage to get some rest.

An offensive waste bin in the corner of the room. I'm not sure I'm that desperate!

At least I know how I can while away tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about the lack of Tunnock's.

Someone may have eaten bought them all.
