Yep, I've finally got round to updating my will (which left them a percentage, it was made 10 years ago) - they've been removed completely. They've gone completely mad.

Seems to me they've only apologised for publishing the briefing - not for writing it in the first place.

What was the author's purpose in writing it in the first place, and for whom was it an intended briefing?

I love it when two posters who've had a bit of a 'go' at each other apologise, and accept each other's apologies so readily.
It isn't a universal feature of online debate, is it? and clearly not something that Amnesty can manage to do😒

No, I know exactly what you mean. I grew up with a father who was incapable of saying sorry. It's something I feel strongly about and have raised my sons to be able to do - admit mistakes; say sorry. I am so aware how angry this assault on women, safeguarding, language and reason has made me and how liable to reactiveness this makes me.

What I find quite funny is that author JKR created a fantasy world and characters that captured and fired up young peoples' imagination. For those young people the world of Harry Potter is just as real and far more magical than the real world. Escapism can be very powerful and inspiring. It could also be considered a bit like a drug, people can get addicted to it.
and...
At the same time another fantasy world has been constructed around JKR in the heads of TRAs where they live under constant subjugation and oppression, where they are the victims. It seems the desire to play the victim is even more addictive than escapism. These are the addicts far beyond help.
JKR created a fantasy world of positivity. A second fantasy world of negativity has been created around her by men who don't like to hear the world "no".
