Polycule falls apart

I expect people remember that Heather Herbert (charged in relation to social media comments he made after Ann Widdecombe's death) is in a polycule with Sophie Molly (aka Sparkles, aka Euan Weddell) and someone called Poppybear.

Molly, I believe, is a witness for Jolyon Maugham in Sarah Phillimore's libel case against Maugham.

Poppybear has been posting some very indiscreet posts on BlueSky about both Molly and Herbert, and it looks, tragically, as if the polycule has fallen apart.

According to Poppybear, Herbert's comments about Widdecombe "painted a bullseye on all of us", and led to the police coming in and "invading" all their devices (whatever that means).

Also according to Poppybear, living with Sophie Molly is "like being permanently slapped around the face by pathological laziness unless it's something that grooms her ego."

Oh dear.

In a separate development, apparently Herbert has had his toxic kidney removed by the NHS so the money donated to the fundraiser is going to be used for something else:

Some further info on the case included in an article by Stephen Daisley:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/08/05/police-dont-deserve-our-support-or-money/

'Some wonder whether policing, like so many institutions in Britain’s national life, is now intractably captured and politicised. Where before they would have happily endorsed calls for increased investment, they question whether it is in their interests that an organisation that appears hostile towards people like them be given more of their money.

The revelation that a journalist was not only investigated by officers but ordered not to contact the subject of his story will only inflate the numbers feeling this way.

It does not matter that no action was taken against Grove in the end. The very fact that the Metropolitan Police spent four months investigating a journalist for his reporting activities, the fact that seemingly no one involved realised how thoroughly disgraceful the very existence of such an investigation was, is proof that Scotland Yard has badly lost its way.

It is no exaggeration to say that the Met’s conduct in this matter was an open assault by the police on the freedom of the press. Had a similar investigation taken place in most other Western democracies, the commissioner would be clearing his desk right now.
Britain’s tradition is one of policing by consent, but consent requires trust, and trust is crumbling. While that continues to be ignored, and police continue to err as seriously as they did in this case, policing edges ever closer to a crisis of legitimacy.'

There is also Craig Murray, in Scotland.

I don't think I will ever get over the jailing of a journalist for reporting on a case involving politicians. And I know that Murray is a prize knob.

'Scottish PEN is extremely alarmed by reports of recent events in Scotland. On 18 October, The National reported that the Scottish author, human rights campaigner and former diplomat Craig Murray had been detained by members of Police Scotland’s Border Policing Command unit under the UK’s draconian anti-terror laws.'

'The respondent is 62, has no prior convictions, and has been a useful member of society, having formerly served as a British Ambassador. He is married with a young family. He suffers from a number of health issues, including pulmonary hypertension. We do not repeat the details of the respondent’s health here, but we recognise that the respondent has a number of serious health issues, and have taken them into account in our determination. It was submitted that there were grave concerns over his capacity to deal with a period of imprisonment.'

You know the only reason we even know that these repellent men exist is that they just happened to be alive at the one time in history when the culture had a random moment of madness and decided that these are people we should be centring and listening to. From here on out they will go back to festering away unknown in the grotty bedsits from whence they came, getting up to god knows what but thankfully we won't have to hear about it anymore.

I suspect Bath is low on crime at 1.30am, which is nice for those who live there 😆

I dunno, there have been plenty of middle-of-the-night sirens through the summer.

The polycule insist they are "real" women. Absolutely none of them will declare they are male.

Quite. Defeats the whole object of honesty and transparency to omit the most pertinent fact - they all men and very creepy ones at that.
