Polycule falls apart

I expect people remember that Heather Herbert (charged in relation to social media comments he made after Ann Widdecombe's death) is in a polycule with Sophie Molly (aka Sparkles, aka Euan Weddell) and someone called Poppybear.

Molly, I believe, is a witness for Jolyon Maugham in Sarah Phillimore's libel case against Maugham.

Poppybear has been posting some very indiscreet posts on BlueSky about both Molly and Herbert, and it looks, tragically, as if the polycule has fallen apart.

According to Poppybear, Herbert's comments about Widdecombe "painted a bullseye on all of us", and led to the police coming in and "invading" all their devices (whatever that means).

Also according to Poppybear, living with Sophie Molly is "like being permanently slapped around the face by pathological laziness unless it's something that grooms her ego."

Oh dear.

In a separate development, apparently Herbert has had his toxic kidney removed by the NHS so the money donated to the fundraiser is going to be used for something else:

How does one get 'bounced back to Cambridge'? What does that even mean?

I thought he wanted to go back there reading his “skeets”?

Well yes, so why is he implying he was forced. Most odd.

BezMark · 03/08/2026 12:41

This reminds me of a bus journey I took from Glenrothes bus station to the "Vic" hospital in Kirkcaldy. There were a couple of characters chatting to each other about all kinds of tomfoolery and buffooning that had happened recently in their circles. I leave it to the readers' imagination, but it was a window into another world that I was very glad to be at some remove from.

murasaki · 03/08/2026 12:47

I'm also intrigued as to what court has banned comms between them and why, given the only court thing I recall is potentially Herbert's, that may not even happen. And Poppybear seems to think Herbert isn't the problem.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/08/2026 12:49

Poppy seems to think the sun shines out of Herbert’s proverbial.

murasaki · 03/08/2026 12:50

Maybe it's long hair envy.

Odd though, given as far as I can see it's Herbert that got the rozzers looking into them in the first place.

Maybe because he can’t be in the polycule any longer?

murasaki · 03/08/2026 13:07

Hmm, most people wouldn't feel forced to leave a city when a relationship breaks up. The house, sure, but a whole city?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/08/2026 13:09

Does he come from Cambridge? It sounds like he already had his own flat there, maybe the easiest thing logistically, given that he doesn’t have a job to keep him in Aberdeen, was to go back there.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/08/2026 13:11

Does anyone remember that Aimee Challenor also allegedly was part of a polycule set up in Scotland? Obvs about 7/8 years ago

Could be. Lucky old Cambridge. And his poor neighbours.

I seem to remember a VERY dodgy partner, but not a polycule.

Hackett posted a weird video rant a few days ago which suggested there’d been allegations and charges made - I guess that could result in a no contact order if that is what happened.

It seems like his beef is with Sparkles, not Herbert.

Tabby keeping his head down, but seemed to be at the Inverness protest thing a couple of weeks ago.

There’s a hilarious comment from Poppybear that “Tabby” just wanted Weddell as a “weekend good time girl” .

I'm now starting to get a bit lost in all this. What we really need is for someone who's on top of it all to create a Dramatis Personae.

I also feel if Kiwi Farms were still around, they'd be on top of it all, but last time I looked, they seemed to have disappeared altogether, unless anyone knows better.

This has now been summarised by Grok

https://nitter.net/dr_r_j_harley/status/2083913692177916164#m

The drama centers on the collapse of a polycule (polyamorous household) in Aberdeen involving several trans-identified individuals. Key people: - Sophie Molly (birth name Euan/John Weddell, previously known as Sophie Sparkles): A Scottish trans activist, occasional journalist/candidate, and public figure based around Aberdeen. Known for outspoken views and prior controversies. - Heather (Scott Herbertson / Heather Herbert): Sophie’s partner. A University of Aberdeen worker. Subject of a GoFundMe raised by Sophie for private surgery (described as removing a “toxic kidney”), which raised thousands; later it emerged the procedure was handled via the NHS, with the crowdfunder left largely unupdated and donations paused. Critics have raised fraud concerns. -

Poppybear (account often shown as @poppybearhackett... or similar, also active on Bluesky as poppybearhackett75): Another member of the household who has been publicly airing grievances. The original screenshot in the mocked post comes from this person. - Others mentioned include Tabitha/Taffy. ### What triggered the public fallout (late July–early August 2026) Poppybear moved in and developed mutual feelings with Heather. According to Poppybear’s posts, Sophie then became hostile, viewing Poppy as a “threat instead of validation.”

Tensions escalated into accusations of: - Narcissism, pathological laziness, and ego-driven behavior from Sophie (including claims Sophie did not actually complete a claimed 15–25 km fundraising walk while also reporting mobility issues for benefits). - Sophie restricting access to wheelchairs/mobility aids, leading to severe physical pain and lack of medication/gas for Poppy. - Sophie calling the police (“dial the pigs” / “mrs sepsis”), resulting in Poppy being forced out of the house/town.

Poppy has described being arrested or threatened with it and has shown images consistent with a head injury in some circulating posts. - Threats toward medical specialists and general instability. Poppybear has been posting a stream of detailed complaints, screenshots, and commentary (some in riddles or dramatic language), which gender-critical accounts have amplified and mocked as soap-opera level. Sophie and others have not been as publicly responsive in the same volume on the personal claims. ..."

There's actually more in that but pasting here incase it gets memory holed

Haha! He's not my idea of a good time, weekend or not.

murasaki · 03/08/2026 13:23

Whatever one may think of Poppy, withholding access to mobility aids is cruel and disgusting.

Challenor married Nathaniel Knight, a paedophile fantasist from the US. He also had a third wheel in Aberdeen, another one of these creepy puppy/diaper fetishist lot. Katrina Swales.

True, the 4 of them wouldn't know reality if it whacked them round the face with a wet fish.

RoyalCorgi · 03/08/2026 13:33

Many thanks for the excellent summary, *Lalgarh. *At last, a worthwhile use for Grok. It really makes EastEnders look very tame.

I wonder if Grok could also do a summary of the drama surrounding Sophia Brooks, Fat Tony, Lynsay Watson and whoever else is in that circle, as I feel that's even more complicated.

OMG was it actually in Aberdeen? It must be the per capita polycule capital of the uk!

I'm not even going to digress into the tumult of the Lindy West throuple. That's got 2 actual females in it and is a shit show in itself

Louis Theroux explores whether the traditional model of marriage is still fit for purpose.

Unreliable, but based on Euan's public displays, he seems believable. IMO also seems like the sanest one in a box of insanity. Really scraping under the barrel on that.
