Sexist Unions boycott Labour women's conference

Unison, Aslef, Usdaw and the Musicians Union are planning to not attend Labour Women's Conference on 26 September 2026 in Liverpool because men are not allowed.

This is breaking Labour party rules against sex discrimination against women and that the Supreme Court judgement is correct:

This could be a huge issue for Burnham and Labour. Especially as Unison, & Unite are already facing court cases over their refusal to admit women exist.

Like the recent Amnesty trainwreck this could be a self inflicted car crash for TAs in the unions. It will force Labour to choose between reality and catering to a bunch of sexists who don't like it when women get have political meetings without male supervision.

Well yes. If this poster has views about feminism, sex and gender unrelated to trans issues there are threads she could join on here to express them. I’d be interested to hear them

However I see a lot more of her being extremely unpleasant to strangers on the internet because of her perception of their standpoint on trans issues. That seems to be how she prefers to spend her time

There is nothing more patriarchal than men demanding access to women's single-sex spaces, services and sports because of some unprovable inner "gender" feelings. It's patriarchy on steroids.

Not really. Labour saying ' The Labour party endorses bullying' would be exactly that. But they haven't said that.
Andy Burnham standing laughing whilst women are attacked physically to the extent Labour members get convictions- and several senior members of government feeling sorry for the assailants and offering to buy them implements. . would be endorsing bullying - and worse actually.....

No. It is outrageous though and shouldn't happen. But it is part of the focus on trans women that is deranged to me. The bigger connected issue is that there simply aren't enough female doctors or all specialities to ensure same sex care can be a choice when it is required. Pretending that the issue is a trans woman not being openly trans to all her patients is disingenuous.

This board was created specifically to hive off discussions involving trans issues and stop the purity of general feminism being corrupted, as a result of a campaign orchestrated by relatively few posters. It rather blew up in their faces. Oh dear.

It isn’t a tiny, tiny issue. It isn’t to the very many women who are distressed at the idea of men being able to access their changing rooms and toilets at will. And it certainly isn’t to all those men who want to use such spaces to validate their delusional idea that they are really women - otherwise why would they make such a fuss about it, even staging mass public urinations and similarly unpleasant protests as well as regularly disrupting women’s events so they can’t even talk about it.

Or even commented on on the feminism board (Spoiler: it looks like zero).
