Unison, Aslef, Usdaw and the Musicians Union are planning to not attend Labour Women's Conference on 26 September 2026 in Liverpool because men are not allowed.

This is breaking Labour party rules against sex discrimination against women and that the Supreme Court judgement is correct:

This could be a huge issue for Burnham and Labour. Especially as Unison, & Unite are already facing court cases over their refusal to admit women exist.

Like the recent Amnesty trainwreck this could be a self inflicted car crash for TAs in the unions. It will force Labour to choose between reality and catering to a bunch of sexists who don't like it when women get have political meetings without male supervision.

Supreme Court Judgment FAQs – The Labour Party

Supreme Court Judgment: Frequently Asked Questions On 16 April 2025, the Supreme Court clarified that references to “women” in the Equality Act 2010 refer to biological sex (meaning the sex of a person at birth), not gender. This means that certain sex...

Fallout developing. The pro women faction in Labour is gathering strength battle lines are drawn. We will see how it plays out.

A key nattle though will be beyond Labour in the Greens and Lib Dems. The more insane the TAs are there the more pro women voices gain strength in Labour.

Moring Star on the conference:

Labour’s women’s rights faultline opens up at conference
Behind the unity on Labour’s wider political direction, battles over sex and gender continue to divide the movement

But feminists are also organising, and a Labour Women’s Declaration fringe meeting, Materialist Feminism and the Left — Is Identity Politics Over? was also packed.
It was held within the conference centre, a shift itself, as Edinburgh North & Leith MP Tracy Gilbert noted. “A few years ago LWD events were being organised on the fringes, in hotels that felt like a million miles away… last year we were upgraded to Leonardo within the secure zone and this year we’re in the ACC at the heart of conference.”
The two guest speaker MPs — Gilbert and East Kilbride & Strathaven’s Joani Reid — were both Scottish and the new leader of Scottish Labour Michael Marra was in the audience, a reflection of the prominence of Scotland in the battles that have taken us to this point. It was For Women Scotland whose case led to the Supreme Court ruling, and divisions over gender self-ID and access to single-sex spaces helped bring down former first minister Nicola Sturgeon and break up the Scottish National Party-Scottish Greens governing coalition.
