The reliably foolish Good Law Project have commissioned a new outdoor campaign, coming to a street near you.

Of course I support trans – I’m not a monster - Monster

Trans people should be able to live their lives in peace.

🎶Dinosaurs have great big feet
Stomp stomp stomp🎶

I think I've said this before hereabouts, but my 18 month old grandchild identifies as a dinosaur and does some startlingly convincing stomping.
Of course I support him and pretend that I think he is an actual dinosaur. He puts in so much effort and is so gleeful at the squeals and scarediness he can induce in me and others that it's not a chore.

However, even at 18 months, deep down he knows that nobody 'really' thinks he's a dinosaur. Even at 18 months wearing a green fleece throw, he knows the fun is in the pretence. I know this because even at 18 months he tells me.
"Play dinosaur" And it doesn't work without the green fleece throw.

More reactions on reddit and Jo has posted his apology on there too.

I'm starting to wonder if the GLP are actually allies at this point, or a psyop to get our money and fail to do anything useful with it.

Maugham has consistently used attention seeking tactics like this to milk trans people while achieving nothing positive.

It's basically pissing our money up a wall. There is something obscene about all of this.

I had to double take because I thought this was a GC ad

I have no idea what they were smoking thinking portraying us as sharks would do anything but harm us

I suppose it’s good to know what they’re spending the money on, rather than winning any cases.

I'm pretty sure you'd get better billboard ideas from running a school competition than this.

Who needs enemies when you have friends like the GLP

Distinguishing between incompetance and malice is really hard sometimes.

well at least they're not using the money spent here on badly fought court cases that they always lose and make things legally worse, for a change

Just look at that gravy train getting derailed! No wonder Jo had to post a grovelling apology, he might soon have to find a proper job. Council pest control maybe?

Aside from anything (including yet another derailing )

That's not supporting either trains or trams.

I support trans people. I want them to not be discriminated against and I want them to have the same rights and protections as anyone else. I do not support their attempt to override the rights of others though.

If that makes me a monster, give me the badge.

And how are they overwriting anyone else’s rights? Please explain as a CIS woman who doesn’t have a chip on her shoulder.

"Firrell is known for text-based public artworks on billboards around the world."

So word art? I wonder if he sells his stuff on Etsy?

The post-modern wanker version of “Live, Love, Laugh”?

I'm not a cis woman, can I have a go?

When Girl Guides accepted a trans identifying boy into one of th local groups, the 5 Muslim girls who had started wearing the headscarf had to leave. Those girls benefited from cross-cultural friendships with girls their age, and it was whisked away to accommodate a boy.

When a Bristol rape crisis centres insisted they could trans inclusive counselling and trans only counselling, but no counselling for women only, those women's rights were overwritten.

When mediocre middle aged trans identifying man who was a millionaire's son beat a young indigenous women to a weightlifting championship, her achievements were overwritten.

When my 14yo family member was sexually assaulted in her sleep in a dormitory because a 15yo trans identifying boy was allowed to sleep with the actual girls, it resulted in severe trauma, PTSD, missing her GSCEs and suicidal idiation that lasted for 6 years. That was her safety overwritten to valid a sexual aggressor's gender identity.
(That's when I entered this debate. I couldn't believe the lack of safeguarding that had allowed that to be done to her)

When Dr Upton said under oath that he would treat a female patient who requested a female health care professional, that's overwriting that patient's autonomy, boundaries and safety.

Will that do or would you like some more?

Cis is a slur on here. Please read the rules.

When in actuality, the issue is the man under the mask

This is another post that has spurred me to ask myself this question.
Some years ago I was persuaded by some naturist relatives to meet up at a local naturist beach. I had known they were naturists for ages but they are otherwise normal people I've known since birth - I did so and tbh it was pretty unshocking and uneventful and not at all as uncomfortable as I expected it to be.

There was not one transwoman there as far as I could see.
But then - do transwomen frequent naturist beaches? I'd like to know the figures on this. How would we know, for a start?

Absolutely. On tenterhooks of anticipation here. I have enough popcorn for everyone and will buy you all a large frozen daiquiri once we're settled into a new Trans Unity Quilt discussion

Will it be a bit like the Bayeux Tapestry in a few centuries? Do you think?
Or end up in recycling like everything else you've grown tired of.

That’s not my monster. Its hair is too blue.
That’s not my monster. It doesn’t understand biology.
That’s not my monster. It’s got a Trans Unity Quilt.
That’s not my monster. It supports the trans.
That’s my monster. It is in the correct single sex space!

The Bi-Woo tapestry, maybe.

I feel it will not be like the Bayeux Tapestry. Just a hunch.

Where could I see the original ad? The link in the OP doesn't show it any more (since the GLP has has a word with itself and removed it)

An archive link was posted upthread I think.

The rights for women to have single sex female only spaces which they are entitled to by law.

Other than that, they can crack on.
