I'm not a cis woman, can I have a go?
When Girl Guides accepted a trans identifying boy into one of th local groups, the 5 Muslim girls who had started wearing the headscarf had to leave. Those girls benefited from cross-cultural friendships with girls their age, and it was whisked away to accommodate a boy.
When a Bristol rape crisis centres insisted they could trans inclusive counselling and trans only counselling, but no counselling for women only, those women's rights were overwritten.
When mediocre middle aged trans identifying man who was a millionaire's son beat a young indigenous women to a weightlifting championship, her achievements were overwritten.
When my 14yo family member was sexually assaulted in her sleep in a dormitory because a 15yo trans identifying boy was allowed to sleep with the actual girls, it resulted in severe trauma, PTSD, missing her GSCEs and suicidal idiation that lasted for 6 years. That was her safety overwritten to valid a sexual aggressor's gender identity.
(That's when I entered this debate. I couldn't believe the lack of safeguarding that had allowed that to be done to her)
When Dr Upton said under oath that he would treat a female patient who requested a female health care professional, that's overwriting that patient's autonomy, boundaries and safety.
Will that do or would you like some more?
