It seems that Ann was murdered by a coward. Why go for a lone female Reformer than one of the Reform heavyweights? Intolerant cowards, who seek out vulnerable old women may be hiding behind certain political or philosophical beliefs. Ann didn't deny anybody an alternative view, she encouraged it. Too much of this one way freedom of speech is literally killing our nation. Not just the UK but what's happening in America. A few posters' attitudes here have proven why JKR continues to be targetted. As a billionnaire, it's fortunate that she can afford such high security detail.

That’s just your own take away from @LunaShip post.

A more rational reading would be that Widdecombe was respected as a person, not that everyone agreed with her political or personal views.

See, nothing to do with class.

Also interesting to note that she had been a long time friend of David Amess, and supported his family in the wake of his murder.

That was in reply to the deleted poster.

As night follows day, Bigfoot is in with yet another grift fundraiser for Hev...

Wasn't it Big Hevs dodgy kidneys they were grifting fundraising for a couple of weeks ago?

Shouldn't that sparkels post say detractors instead of defectors 🤣

BBC on it now but unfortunately the online article uses the obligatory "she" to describe Herbert. Without a picture of Herbert, so a casual reader wouldn't have any clue that it's actually another misogynistic male they are talking about.

Ffs. I thought the BBC were doing better on this now.
Arseholes!

I was permanently banned from the unitedkingdom Reddit sub for saying this person should not be in a women’s prison (the original comment suggested locking him up).

I hadn’t received any warnings or temporary bans before this.

Whenever they can get away with it, the BBC will revert to adherence to gender ideology.

There is a change.org petition making very reasonable requests of the University of Aberdeen to investigate. Text below. If you google you'll find the petition. I'd have added a concern for the safety of all the women students and staff. Many of the staff will be older women - I know I wouldn't feel safe having to work with this man.

This petition does not call for any specific disciplinary action. Instead, it asks the University of Aberdeen to:

  • Review the circumstances surrounding the remarks
  • Consider whether they meet the university’s professional and ethical expectations
  • Communicate the outcome of that review transparently
  • Universities play an important role in maintaining public trust, and it is reasonable for the public to expect accountability when concerns arise about staff conduct.

Thanks. 3 more signatories now added (and they weren't all me!)

You’ve really embarrassed yourself here re Section 28. I’m cringing for you 😂

Yes, almost as though they have no idea what they’re talking about. But no surprise.

Universities continue to harbour these hard left extremists. They need to be abiding by their own policies on employees' use of social media. It's all too airy fairy instead of taking strong action.

ApplebyArrows · Yesterday 16:03

An Afrikaaner logging on to lecture our country for being so bigoted! What next - perhaps someone from the Taliban?

Hard left extremists?

Charlie Kirk, Jews and Ann Widdecombe. All have attracted hard left scumbags celebrating their deaths. Allll employed or studying at University. So yes, hard left extremists.

Interesting use of the term hard left. I'll probably just skip past your posts now I know where you stand.

Well if you think chanting put zios in the ground, hope she dies painfully handcuffed to her bed and re-enacting/mocking Charlie kirk being shot in the neck is less offensive than a label - I rather you do pass me by. Thanks.

In the case of the subject of this thread I think the main characteristic is hardcore trans rather than hard left. But I guess that doesn't suit your right wing narrative.

You're only interested in discussing hard core trans, good for you. It's not just those who have made hateful comments on murders. It's other leftie idiots. I guess that doesn't suit your left wing narrative.

BridgetYourFortyDaysAreUp · Yesterday 18:14

Not to derail, but the police are calling Widdecombe's murder a "targeted attack" so the "lovely" Herbert could probably expect some questions from counter-terrorist police anyway, because they'll want to cover all angles of investigation.
(I am not in anyway saying he's involved, but since he seems to have very strong views about Widdecombe, the police will probably want to ask him about those views). FAFO.

@AvidRubyTurtle What @LunaShip probably should have said is that Anne was respected by the adult politicians, the ones who had discovered that you can actually deplore someone's political views and still comprehend why they think like that. Sure there are plenty of kiddies around who are unable to recognise that anyone who disagrees with them might not actually be "a monster". You are obviously still one of the children.

There are still many supposedly adult politicians - left and right - who are so far up their own arse they think their opinions are infallible and gods own truth. Despite her strong religious faith Anne wasnt actually one of them. She'd argue her own viewpoint strongly but she'd listen to yours. She may have thought they were sinners but she had gay friends. Dont assume everyone is as intolerant and bigoted as you, they are not.

She may have thought they were sinners but she had gay friends.

My reading indicates that proper Christian belief is that we are all sinners. Having gay friends hence does not contradict holding a Christian faith.

Hard left extremists?

Oh come on. Extremists don’t only come in one flavour.

Foodylicious · Yesterday 18:51

Almost all media (that I have seen) is referring to Heather Herbert as she.
Some have manged to avoid he or she.
Only seen Scottish report as He/His.

What a delightful “young woman” comments on Widdecombe death

That's quite an assumption, especially given the subject of this thread. At least I manage not to use rude names about a whole sector of society just because they don't share my politics. Idiots indeed.

The media is guided by this:

I have no idea why the Scottish press pushes the boundaries more than the English press. Even if the wrong pronouns are used, the Mail's The Mail picture editor has a way of telling a different story.

There is no suggestion that the killer is trans is there?

People aren't suggesting all lefties are hard core, they are suggesting that there are some hard core lefties that are extremists.

Unlike a lot if people who like to infer that being even slightly right of centre makes you a fascist.
