Great Darlington news.
It got to 36 here today - but the living room didn't get above 24.5. Shutting out the Hot seemed to work (with a few upstairs windows open to pull any heat up the house and away).
Usual B&B antics today. Batshit found a very long stem in one of the flowerbeds (the one that needs digging up and starting again). She frolicked joyfully out with it, showed Brains her fabulous discovery, broke off a chunk to chew - and Brains decided she wanted it. There was a brief tussle and Brains won. Chomp chomp chomp.
Batshit wandered around slightly sadly for half a minute - and then remembered the rest of the stem! She ran back and got it, and then cantered past Brains and around the lawn, up and down and up and down like a horse on a fairground carousel. 'I have the long stick! You have the short stick! I have wo-on! Ner ner ne-ner ner!'
Brains side-eyed her and carried on chewing. Batshit then settled down for a good gnaw on the other side of the lawn.
The next time I looked, Brains had taken possession of what was left of the big bit... If Batshit would just keep quiet, and sidle quietly away into one of the various dark and shady corners of the garden... but not. She has to show off to Brains.
The next time I mow the lawn, there will be shattered bits of dry stem all over the place. This is why we need Magic Mechanic.
