Would love to see Sian Berry have to explain herself in court.

Unless the council and the school choose to ask her to appear, I doubt that will happen. Whatever her views, Sian Berry is not and never has been a councillor in Brighton and Hove, nor to my knowledge a governor of the school.

moto748e · 26/03/2026 19:20

No, but she'll surely be questioned about it by the media.

Throckmorton · 26/03/2026 19:43

SSSIS and DD
You are absolute legends. I am in complete awe of your tenacity and bravery, and frankly I am at a total loss of words to adequately express myself. You are right up there with people like the suffragettes who secured women the right to vote!

Everybodys · 26/03/2026 20:01

So grateful to your daughter OP, on behalf of my own tween DD. What an incredible young woman she must be.

SSAW2026 · 26/03/2026 22:39

The school sounds like it's run by TRAs.

Time this nonsense stopped. Telling boys they can change with girls is wrong, its abusive. Adults enabling the lies are abusive. Sex matters. Males can never become females and vice versa. Mental health issues need much.more funding.

Many thanks to you and your daughter for bringing this action! I salute you both.

💯

Well done.

moto748e · 26/03/2026 23:52

Absolutely. I think however difficult this must have been for your DD, OP, she will come out of this a wiser and stronger woman. 💐

Absolutely. I think however difficult this must have been for your DD, OP, she will come out of this a wiser and stronger woman. 💐

And she'll know her dad had her back. Which is priceless. She's a brave girl and you're a great dad.

I hope so. This feels like something that will lodge in her psyche as who she is, not someone who is aggro but someone who does the right thing not the easy thing.

Such a heartfelt THANK YOU to both of you for your bravery and tenacity and integrity. For someone to be prepared take on this fight at your DD's age is genuinely awe-inspiring - and she has an enormous crowd of women and girls right behind her. The absolute best of luck!

lcakethereforeIam · 28/03/2026 09:47

Just adding my thanks and admiration to all the ones upthread.

L0V315 · 28/03/2026 11:01

Hi op, I have been following your threads on this school right from the beginning. Your daughter is an amazing young person and you are a super dad, well done to you both, 💐.

The way the school and other agencies have tried to ignore and fob you off has been disgusting. The head teacher and co should hang their heads in shame, fuckers 🤬

It is obviouse to any one with a brain cell that you are either xx or xy chromosome and that can not be altered.

backslashruby · 28/03/2026 12:54

I have closely followed both your threads on this issue. I am in awe of your tenacity in the face of everything the school have done to try and deter you from holding them to account for their appalling behaviour. Your daughter is incredibly brave and she has my total respect and admiration.

RandomMess · 28/03/2026 15:02

I love that blog post, it has explained the situation clearly & simply.

womendeserveequalhumanrights · 28/03/2026 20:39

The head teacher and co should hang their heads in shame

I'm firmly of the opinion that the headteacher should be sacked, and possibly the entire governing board removed too. They've failed to do the most basic and fundamental part of their jobs - safeguard properly and follow the law.

What is the point of employment contracts if people can just ignore what's in them and do whatever they want? Especially when it comes to children.

100% agree OP is an awesome Dad and his daughter is a remarkably courageous young woman.

Interestingly the EHRC have contacted me (don't get too excited).

I applied to the Equality Advisory Support Service in September 2025 to look at this and to past to the EHRC as a matter of urgency. They basically said they got the email, that was it.

the EASS got back to me on 27th March, 9 days after court papers submitted, 5 days after press coverage, asking:

"The EHRC have contacted our service and have asked if you have any further information that you would like to share and to also find out more generally and get an update on the situation.

However, they have advised that this is for intelligence gathering purposes rather than exploring any specific EHRC action."

Feels too close to occurrences for this to be chance, but, it's a big universe and a lotto stuff just happens at the same time.

Not quite sure what to actually say, I mean, other than there is an application for a judicial review and have they not heard?

I think you should add a brief summary of what exactly has gone on.

nocoolnamesleft · 29/03/2026 17:37

Your daughter is truly a remarkably brave young woman to stand up for her rights, and those of other girls, in this way. Thank goodness she has a strong tenacious dad on her side. The best of luck to you both.

What do they use the intelligence for?

@SingleSexSpacesInSchools your daughter is a badass. The future is in good hands - please send her my love and respect.

What do they use the intelligence for?

Given how unresponsive they have been on my issue, god alone knows.

I assume, given it's now fully legal, the EHRC are properly aware, but Conrathe Gardner are sending them the full case detail now.
