I can’t believe the school is so blinkered that they cannot admit that this is wrong!

It's in Brighton.

Nuff said.

borntobequiet · 23/03/2026 16:15

Well done. Your - both of your - strength and perseverance has been amazing.

lifeturnsonadime · 23/03/2026 16:17

Very well done.

It's absolutely ludicrous that your daughter and other girls in the school have been put in this position and I really admire your daughter's bravery for sticking up for what is right here. That can't be easy, especially in an area like Brighton.

ItsCoolForCats · 23/03/2026 16:22

Your daughter is so brave. I'm sure she takes inspiration by having such an amazing Dad advocating for her. Well done OP. I'm sorry it has had to get to this stage and the school still isn't considering the needs of its female pupils.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 23/03/2026 16:24

Thanks for fighting this, it must have taken a lot to get this far, and in Brighton too. Thanks to your daughter for standing up and being counted, she's brave, principled and right. Well done for getting this far, lets hope the school and the council see sense and right their wrongs before you get to court. 👏💐✊

SexRealistic · 23/03/2026 16:27

Well done @SingleSexSpacesInSchools and lovely daughter! A necessary battle and the right vanguard team.

More power to you. Let us know if you need any seeds for gardening.

Outwiththenorm · 23/03/2026 16:29

Good luck to you both!

BiologicalRobot · 23/03/2026 16:34

Thank you OP and OP's daughter for doing this. Total respect to you both ❤

DontStopMe · 23/03/2026 16:40

Well done OP. Respect to you and your daughter.

vdbfamily · 23/03/2026 16:45

Well done OP but crazy it had to go this far. All strength to you both.

FarriersGirl · 23/03/2026 16:47

Wow great to hear and I hope this gets huge publicity. Well done OP and a huge amount of respect for your daughter to do this difficult thing ❤

DialSquare · 23/03/2026 16:52

Well done both of you. What an amazing daughter you have and what a great father you are for supporting her all the way. I’m ready to donate funds if needed.

Apollo441 · 23/03/2026 17:21

Is there a fundraiser? Happy to contribute.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 23/03/2026 17:26

Brilliant news @SingleSexSpacesInSchools

And many thanks and congratulations to your daughter. It's not easy for young women to speak out when surrounded by intimidating adults who dismiss the need to safeguard girls.
She deserves all of our support.

moto748e · 23/03/2026 17:40

Massive thanks to the OP and his daughter; this is such a big thing to take on. How long has this been going on now, the first thread must be literally years ago?

feministmom4ever · 23/03/2026 17:48

Well done you!!!! I can’t believe the school still won’t back down, they can’t possibly think they will win this in court. That said what actually happens when they lose in court, how does the court plan enforce single sex spaces?

Daleksatemyshed · 23/03/2026 17:57

I really hope your persistence will be rewarded @SingleSexSpacesInSchools , it's absolutely insane that the school can't see they are in the wrong

MrsOvertonsWindow · 23/03/2026 17:59

It can't be emphasised how important this is. For too long extreme transactivism / queer theory has been allowed to rampage through schools, insisting on the dismantling of safeguarding and that children MUST be taught that they have no right to boundaries from the opposite sex - especially girls and especially when undressing.

Many parents have looked to challenge schools in the courts but have backed away because they fear a backlash from a school against their child.

Having said that, it was a courageous teenage girl and her mother who threatened the trans captured Crown Prosecution Service with a judicial review after their massive overreach in writing dangerous "guidelines" for schools. Senior CPS staff promptly realised that the embedded coercive control, the targeting of children to remove boundaries, especially in changing rooms and toilets, would result in public humiliation and the "guidelines" were withdrawn and scrubbed from the internet.

All parents should be thankful to the OP and daughter for their courage and persistence. This is long overdue Flowers

Londonmummy66 · 23/03/2026 18:11

Thank you for persevering with this @SingleSexSpacesInSchools and huge congratulations to your daughter for being so courageous in standing up and being prepared to say that this isn't right.

CriticalCondition · 23/03/2026 18:23

Thank you @SingleSexSpacesInSchools to both you and your daughter for your persistence and bravery. I've been following your threads. I hope this case is the beginning of the end to this in schools. Ready to garden if needed!

Igmum · 23/03/2026 18:34

Thank you Singlesex and Singlesex 2.0 your bravery is astounding

Forester1 · 23/03/2026 18:42

Thank you for pushing this - disappointing that you’ve had to take it this far

WeMeetInFairIthilien · 23/03/2026 18:46

Wozers!

That is a press release and a half!

Very well done to both of you.

I will happily send a card to show my support, via your solicitors, if that would help? As a science teacher who grew up in Brighton, and completely agrees with you.

I can’t believe the school is so blinkered that they cannot admit that this is wrong!

Surely B&H will be absolutely DELIGHTED to get the opportunity to publicly put an end to this for once and for all?

Their arguments must be legally watertight or they wouldn't have implemented them, right? So they can easily present a robust and clear defence and send the prosecution packing, quicksmart.

You'd have thought, wouldn't you 🤔

I hope the head is pilloried for this. Safeguarding children in schools is not optional. It's an absolute dereliction of duty.
