Its good to have long threads to go into detailed discussion, for those who have the time!

But can mean a significant development like this doesn't get generally known.

So good to have this thread, as the info in the title is really inspiring.

Go Green Women's Declaration!

This could be really interesting.

If they win it open's up other political parties who operate a form of sexism in their way of working, decision making!

Helleofabore · 04/03/2026 22:04

Thanks for the heads up though. I would have missed this because I only check the other thread occasionally.

deadpan · 05/03/2026 07:27

Good for them, but I bet they're devastated they have to take this path.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'll never understand how a party that understands the climate crisis and surrounding science can not only throw biological science to one side but also the people who understand it.

ArabellaScott · 05/03/2026 08:07

All the very best to these very brave women.

borntobequiet · 05/03/2026 08:18

Good for them.

TWETMIRF · 05/03/2026 09:23

Bring taken to court is the normal state of the greens these days. If only they would take a step back and see how they are wrong but I fear they see this as them being right.

Edited

But then, the Green Party no longer seems to care very much about climate change….

I wish them luck, and offer them my vote if they succeed in dragging the GP back into a sane space

WittyLimeBiscuit · 05/03/2026 10:35

I feel sorry for the women in the Green Party trying to push back on their misogyny

Agreed. I won't vote for them again until they centre the environmental crisis as the lens through which all decisions should be made.
And that is doubly the case because trans ideology is not only utterly unscientific, it's also a paradigm for the type of first world excess that is destroying the natural world and feeding the beast of untrammelled capitalism.
Why on earth would anyone allegedly green or 'left wing' think it a good thing to enrich multinational medical and pharma companies by medicalising people for life with hormones that will not only damage them but will also pollute the planet?

Christinapple · 05/03/2026 12:05

Shouldn't the Green's Women rename themselves to take out the "Green" part? They seem to be focused on trans people and have absolutely nothing in common with the actual Greens.

Why don't you report them to the Greens then? Or have you done so already?

Report what?

I'm just making a suggestion so it's clearer what Green Women are all about (i.e. trans people).

seconded! I can't read 40 page discussions all the time...

If a new thing happens - we need a new thread with a descriptive title like this one

Maybe they are actually focussed on Green issues? Gender identity is certainly not an environmental issue....

They're focused on the fact that they are being discriminated against, nothing to do with 'trans'. Gender ideology is a batshit crazy ideology that is deeply misogynistic, that's what they're fighting back against.

I hope they win, the Greens have always been a bit nutty, but they completely jumped the shark these last few years, for the same reason Labour has, they're saying whatever they have to say to get the vote's.

SirChenjins · 05/03/2026 13:32

Oh there you are with your nonsense, Chris - you're nothing if not consistent. The Green Party should be the ones to take out the Green, and replace it with Men's Rights - you could be their poster boy.

Well done those women. It's a shame it's come to this, but the GP need to be taken to task over the issue.

TWETMIRF · 06/03/2026 09:24

Yes, please do explain Chris how the Green Party puts environmental issues as their top priority. Personally I feel they should change to the pink party if they want to still be a colour or maybe the penis party as making penises happy seems to be their main function these days. They are all for equal opportunities, they make the penises of both men and women happy.

Curious that you don’t want them to take out the ‘Women’ part of their name, seeing as you maintain that Green Women’s Declaration are focused on trans people.

Green Women’s Declaration does exactly what it says on the tin: focus on women. You just don’t like that. Wrong sort of ‘women’, hmm?

Given the Greens appear to be hyper-fixated on trans people, why discriminate against the Green Women's Declaration for pointing out the effect that has on actual women?

Chugabub · 06/03/2026 19:19

Curious if you could sue reform if they didn’t allow a refugee helpline stall.

Green party have said which side of the fence they’re on, either vote for them because they align the most with your political aims or don’t, surely.

Imnobody4 · 06/03/2026 20:42

A great (long) polemic on the state of the Greens.

labourheartlands.com/the-green-partys-war-on-reality/

Is it possible for a political party to claim it is saving the planet while simultaneously denying the most fundamental biological reality of the species that inhabits it?

The dossier reveals that the Green Party spent £190,000 on legal battles in 2024 alone. A further £350,000 was allocated across its 2025 and 2026 budgets to defend against claims from current and former members. The party’s own lawyers warned that these sums constitute what they called a ‘substantial proportion of the Party’s actual and projected income’ and that they are restricting funds needed for staffing, political campaigning, and the payment of local party capitations. In plain English: the Green Party is spending more money fighting its own women than it is spending on elections.

Someone posted this on facebook and all I thought was pot kettle.

Okay so Labour may not have had the court cases but look at the women they have abused and pushed out, for instance Rosie Duffield.

I wonder what Labour Heartlands has to say about that.

Nil points for jumping to conclusions. Nothing to do with Labour Party

Welcome to Labour Heartlands, a news outlet unbound by the traditional constraints of political party narratives or the mainstream media. Our mission is clear: We are dedicated to challenging the pervasive system of neoliberalism, which has found favour with all major UK political parties. Unfortunately, even the Labour Party has succumbed to this system, forsaking the very individuals they were initially created to advocate for. It is within this context of abandonment that we aim to be a voice for those who have been left behind.
