Thread 3, 28-Oct to 29-Oct, AT (day 5&6), TA (day 6&7)
Thread 4, 29-Oct to 31-Oct, TA, AM (day 7) JB (day 8)

Five nurses working at Darlington Memorial Hospital have filed a legal case suing their employer, an NHS trust, for sexual harassment and sex discrimination. The nurses object to sharing the women’s changing facilities with a male colleague, Rose, who identifies as female. The hearing started on October 20th, with evidence starting on October 22nd and is scheduled to last 3 weeks. To view the hearing online requests for access had to be made by October 17th. The hearing is being live tweeted by Tribunal Tweets who have background to this case on their substack. An alternative to X is to use Nitter: nitter.net/tribunaltweets or nitter.poast.org/tribunaltweets

The Judge made clear at the start of the public hearing on Day 1 that only TT or press have permission to tweet. If online observers see/hear something in the court that isn’t reported by TT, we don’t mention it until the next time there’s a break. This is a very cautious approach to avoid any accusations of “live reporting” on MN. Commentary on the content of TT tweets is fine as soon as they’re posted on X.

So all the incompetent HR adjacents bods met this women to explore concerning concerns and she then used that information to create a hostile working enviroment for the nurses who didn't want to get near naked in front of a man.

Can I raise a concern under the concerning concerns concerning people procedures please/

No. But you may rumble about it.

CriticalCondition · 31/10/2025 16:28

Wainwright gives all of the alphabet people airquotes. They are special and she understands them.

Hedgehogsrightsarehumanrights · 31/10/2025 16:33

yes indeed she drew an accurate picture of a hostile environment.

Of course. It's all very concerning. I'm not surprised you are concerned about the concerns about being concerned about the rumblings. But we're not concerned about the nurses being concerned that we weren't concerned about their concerns about our lack of concern about their rumblings.

sad times

I'm back and catching up and I see us lesbians are being mustered to support Rose.🙄

I know it depends on how you define lesbian, but in my experience, lesbians are even less likely to want a biological male in their changing room, though I'm not creating hierarches of 'not wanting a man in our changing room', no woman should have to put up with it.

TW was under oath, and obviously was telling the truth.

But didn't it sounds awfully like Dawn Butler's claim that butch lesbians need a group of straight women to protect them in women's toilets, since the SC ruling.?
Every high-profile trans ally suddenly had a butch lesbian friend .. I don't know where all these butch lesbians came from. Did they have to import some to have enough to go around?😄

So apparently Darlington has a cohort of lesbian nurses who are also TWAW and who also think, for some bizarre reason, that if a man is excluded from the women's CR they will be too..
OK, if you say so...😒

Domesticatednottamed · 31/10/2025 16:35

I just keep thinking about Rachel Rooney writing the parody of all this in a series of rhyming books:
The Concerns with Concerns
The Rumbling Rumbles
The Sensitive, um, Things?

I'm concerned that I'm not too sure exactly what your concern is concerning? Can you attend the meeting that I'm still concerned hasn't been arranged (very concerning behaviour there by @ickky ) in which we can all air our concerns.

I can then collate the concerns and ignore them until June 2027.

Much thanks

murasaki · 31/10/2025 16:38

I think I've figured out some of the maths.

26 rumbles make a concern and 8 concerns make a tribunal. But 26 rumbles don't make 1 conversation.

It's still unclear how many £ of damages make a sacking.

Domesticatednottamed · 31/10/2025 16:40

I'm trying to hear that last awful witness in my head and struggling a bit, was she more Sybil Fawlty or Norah Batty?

Boiledbeetle · 31/10/2025 16:40
Sure Jan GIF

OK, so how many rumbles = "noise in the system"

I'm thinking that these so called 'lesbians' with air quotes are different to normal lesbians.

But didn't it sounds awfully like Dawn Butler's claim that butch lesbians need a group of straight women to protect them in women's toilets, since the SC ruling.?

I don't understand this claim at all - it only makes sense if the assumption is that until April 2025 nobody cared who used which facility and the butch lesbians were assumed to be men, but nobody minded.

Hedgehogsrightsarehumanrights · 31/10/2025 16:44

sorry i am very prone to making film references. The fifth element where the enemy disguised as humans cannot keep the disguise up when they got angry, and turn back into true selves at the flight ticket desk. Was TW to a tee.

Good question, the policy owner of that has retired.

All I keep thinking of is a Squash and a Squeeze by Julia Donaldson ‘-a wise old man heard her grumble and grouse’

where was he when they needed him?

GnomeDePlume · 31/10/2025 16:48

The only way the NHS respondants' performance at this tribunal makes sense is if they are all plants and are, in fact, working for t'other side.

Not just lesbians, but, ‘lesbians’.

Did she do air quotes? 😮

ProudWomanXX · 31/10/2025 16:52

All I can think of is how much money could be diverted to pay for actual nursing etc staff, if all those useless HR folk were sacked.

15 Band 5 nurses @£30kpa? How many other staff?

She seemed the sort that in real life would just mouth certain words whilst giving you a knowing look over the top of her glasses.
