Five nurses working at Darlington Memorial Hospital have filed a legal case suing their employer, an NHS trust, for sexual harassment and sex discrimination. The nurses object to sharing the women’s changing facilities with a male colleague, Rose, who identifies as female. The hearing started on October 20th, with evidence starting on October 22nd and is scheduled to last 3 weeks. To view the hearing online requests for access had to be made by October 17th. The hearing is being live tweeted by Tribunal Tweets who have background to this case on their substack. The Judge made clear at the start of the public hearing on Day 1 that only TT or press have permission to tweet. If online observers see/hear something in the court that isn’t reported by TT, we don’t mention it until the next time there’s a break. This is a very cautious approach to avoid any accusations of “live reporting” on MN. Commentary on the content of TT tweets is fine as soon as they’re posted on X.

She is very "Computer says No" in her manner. I don't thinkshe is trying to deceive, I'm not sure it has even dawned on her yet exactly how wrong she has been, or how obtuse she appears.

And let’s call a spade a spade: that’s what the Trust is (rightly) terrified of.

Yet it doesn't appear to have occurred to anyone in HR to get an actual legal opinion on the situation if they were so "confused"

Any sympathy I might have had is out there window as I believe she is the embodiment of confirmation bias. She only gives weight to parts of ‘guidance’ that suits her and dismisses or just ignores anything that doesn’t suit.

Just catching up but wanted to make the point that the nurses were making a complaint about being sexually harassed by RH. THAT alone warranted an investigation which doesn't appear to have been done because it's trans innit.

Honest but stupid. Very stupid. She simply doesn't have the intellectual capacity to understand the guidance, regulations or statutes that she's reading.

Are they still on a 10 minute break?

It's actually a reasonably comfortable place to be. It means she can get through this without it being too much of a nightmare and she demonstrates to a row of her NHS superiors sat in front of her that she didn't betray the Trust.

It makes her look like a stupid robot but in her shoes I'd take it.

What a shambles! Nobody knows what anybody else is responsible for, or if they are responsible, are they actually doing anything...

Reminds me (in a different way) of Kirrin Metcalf in Allison Baillie's case. People who are utterly confident that they are right and have done everything right and make the prosecution's case for them.

It makes you honestly wonder what this lot do all day beyond busywork.

JB I did look at guidance last night it's a big document, but it doesn't go into reason to exclude from single sex space.
