"Darlington Nurses" vs County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust Tribunal Thread 2

1000 replies

ThreeWordHarpy · 23/10/2025 14:17

Link to Thread 1, 7-Oct to 23-Oct; pre-hearing discussion, evidence from KD (Day 1) and BH (Day 2).

Five nurses working at Darlington Memorial Hospital have filed a legal case suing their employer, an NHS trust, for sexual harassment and sex discrimination. The nurses object to sharing the women’s changing facilities with a male colleague, Rose, who identifies as female. The NHS trust’s HR department dismissed the nurses’ concerns, stating they should “broaden their mindset” and “be educated”. More details can be found at Sex Matters and at Christian Concern who are supporting the nurses via the CLC.

The hearing started on October 20th, with evidence starting on October 22nd and is scheduled to last 3 weeks. To view the hearing online, requests for access had to be made by October 17th. The hearing is being live tweeted by Tribunal Tweets who have background to this case on their substack. An alternative to X is to use Nitter: nitter.net/tribunaltweets or nitter.poast.org/tribunaltweets

The Judge made clear at the start of the public hearing on Day 1 that only TT or press have permission to tweet. If online observers see/hear something in the court that isn’t reported by TT, we don’t mention it until the next time there’s a break. This is a very cautious approach to avoid any accusations of “live reporting” on MN. Commentary on the content of TT tweets is fine as soon as they’re posted on X.

ickky · 28/10/2025 12:17

Wilfully ignorant.

Of course Men are stronger than Women, what is wrong with him?

IDareSay · 28/10/2025 12:17

This man is a knob of the highest order. In my opinion.

ickky · 28/10/2025 12:18

But a great witness for our side.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 28/10/2025 12:18

Here we go!

RoostingHens · 28/10/2025 12:18

Men commit 98% of sex offences and women are 88% of victims. They also differ from male victims by the fact that they can become pregnant as a result of rape.

katmarie · 28/10/2025 12:19

Waits for TT to type out that last bit....

EsmeWeatherwaxHatpin · 28/10/2025 12:19

Ha. So his self identity changes him magically into a non threatening female. Nope.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 28/10/2025 12:19

He’s a misogynistic arse.

AuthorisedCat · 28/10/2025 12:19

NF Fair this distress esp acute when employee has a history that sensitisses them, eg of abuse? Yes NF This fear/distress when the M is obv stronger than she is AT I wouldnt be able to measure that NF Issue put b4 you. F employees sharing a CR w large built male

ickky · 28/10/2025 12:19

Ah so when men declare they are women they immediately lose most of their strength.

ickky · 28/10/2025 12:20

and height!

AuthorisedCat · 28/10/2025 12:20

chilling19 · 28/10/2025 12:20

But RH is part of the sacred caste don’t you know. 😡

AuthorisedCat · 28/10/2025 12:21

be aggravated by the siaze of a man AT Yes, I think so if the man didnt ID as a W. Yr trying to say a large built M in the CR but Rose IDs as a W. NF I'm asking you as the shepherd of sheep. U must take the Cs perspective. whether or not IDs as a W, the F employee is saying

ickky · 28/10/2025 12:21

Well he was presenting as a man.

CriticalCondition · 28/10/2025 12:21

This is absolute gold for us. He's never given it a moment's thought. I do hope NF introduces him to his own version of Pete.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 28/10/2025 12:21

‘Rose being Rose’.

Aww, it’s like a beautiful poem.

AuthorisedCat · 28/10/2025 12:22

NF I've seen an unshaven man w a deep voice. The fact he's obv larger than her. Can u understand her fear and apprehension in sitn AT For me it depends on whether was threatening and how presented. Not the sitn we're talking about.

katmarie · 28/10/2025 12:22

Fuck me. So by identifying as a woman, the large 6 ft male looking man magically becomes non threatening. Does this man hear himself!?!?!?

NebulousSupportPostcard · 28/10/2025 12:22

He is absolutely awful. So obtuse. How the hell do people like this get to be Head of HR (or is that the point - that being awful is the requirement?)

People like him are exactly why it is so important to be allowed to use biologically correct pronouns, and post photos in the press.

He is quite a big bloke himself, and I would be terrified to come across him in a changing room, because he is so obtuse and arrogant and believes himself to be so totally right.

NF is doing well but I would love this fucker to get Naomi'd.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 28/10/2025 12:22

I don’t like him at all.

nauticant · 28/10/2025 12:22

"A rose by any other name" is particularly apt here.

Hedgehogsrightsarehumanrights · 28/10/2025 12:23

RoostingHens · 28/10/2025 12:15

Not under the equality act it can’t.

Have a look Schedule 22 contains provisions to allow certain acts that would be otherwise unlawful. Such as adjustments related to pregnancy or post berth for eg

It is not all about disability.
