Just thought I’d pop in for a pot of tea.

I’ve brought someone along for a flying visit and hope it doesn’t feel too weird, or anything. My son was nicknamed “Bear” by his friends, because he was like a favourite Teddy bear. I thought I’d bring him along just to show him where I’ve been hanging out all this time. He knew I was a TERF, but didn’t know about The Blue Stocking so I wanted to let him in to this part of my life a little. (I realise he’s male so there might be an argument for him popping to The Staunch Ally, but he’s only a teddy bear so not actually male either in the true sense...)

I think he’ll be happy just watching the coming and goings with me, by the fire. Thanks to the gerbils for the tea.

IRL I went to a very low-key music festival today. Heard a favourite local band & bought a few bits on charity bric-a-brac stalls (always a laugh, though last year I found an antique necklace of a favourite style, for <1/20th of its real price - you can bet that came home with me).

Having discovered the Jane Austen progs & films on iPlayer, this afternoon we watched 'Persuasion' from the 1990s, as I'm trying to get DH to read the book. I studied it for O level AND A level (moved for 6th form).

We made a trip to the next town yesterday to shop at M&S, so DH is making an M&S dinner. He's a pie-loving man & they make the only decent ones available locally, so guess what we've got tonight?

Dear Swash, of course you and Bear must sit in peace together.

I had a chat with the gerbils and the capybaras about the hassle of having to move at the end of every thread, and we've been working these past few weeks to build a permanent site for the Bluestocking.
Work is progressing well, and I'll keep you updated - here's a sneak preview of work on the interior..
