A very useful compendium of trans activists sharing their views.

Ugh! Arabella! This post should come with a trigger warning. "The stupidity insanity will break your brain." I'm only a few minutes in, and I've already had to stop several times just to digest the sheer craziness of some things I've heard...

ArabellaScott · 29/05/2025 16:16

Aw, come on, parts of it are hilarious! :D

Justnot · 29/05/2025 16:59

I could only watch it through my fingers - so many lowlights but thankful that the full pink bra wasn’t in shot (only got as far as sad faced NHS bod saying what about the pregnant children)

Seethlaw · 29/05/2025 17:09

So what you're saying is I should enjoy the insanity? ... You know, I think you're right, but then I'm afraid I might never stop laughing :D

I mean...

  • "A woman is a woman who embodies femininity" : so a woman is a woman who is a woman...
  • Sex at birth is not necessarily about chromosomes, just external genitalia.
  • Trans men in the ladies' are now at risk of being beaten up by the husbands of the women who go there too.
  • "What is a woman?" is a gotcha question.
  • Gender dysphoria is all in the head - but it's not a mental illness!

... Huh. It becomes markedly less funny when the interviewer starts getting followed around by 4 people calling him names and determined to stop him filming, and has to be backed up by the police to get free of them. So much for the community of love, acceptance and tolerance.

ArabellaScott · 29/05/2025 17:31

Oh, I hadn't got that far yet, am watching in snippets.

A bunch of crazy young people and some very dodgy older men. Why it doesn't shout 'safeguarding issue' to everyone is the mystery of our age.

Alucard55 · 29/05/2025 19:20

They just want to live their lives with dignity and respect.

Definitely doing a grand job of that!

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 29/05/2025 19:28

oh boy

I mean hardly anyone ‘passes’ but the older men? They really, really don’t pass.

AgathaX · 29/05/2025 20:14

Gosh, there were some sights on there!!

I only got a few minutes in but heard several contradictions to the lines they usually trot out for their cause.

KnottyAuty · 29/05/2025 20:57

I watched this quite soon after the demo and thought it was an excellent summary of different trans views. Ashley asks great questions because he’s come to it fresh and has no idea about the controversy of some of the things he is asking. A couple of people respond well to his genuine curiosity so he has interesting conversations to start with. It’s brilliant because of the sunlight it brings. He also has an earlier film from a different demo which is worth a watch but I think it’s this one where he ends up getting mobbed by silent cardboard holders who take objection to him filming and he ends up - bemused and talking to the police at the end. The silent protesters are odd because they won’t speak to him or the police. Which really underlines the weirdness of it all. Bravo Wesley!

Justme56 · 29/05/2025 21:16

There is another on YT that he put out yesterday about the London protest. It was taken down and put up again today (something to do with adult content - possibly topless protesters) but it’s worth a watch as he speaks to both the protesters and the young women from Uni who were counter protesting.

Thank you, I'd actually gone to his channel to look for that one but stumbled on.this instead!

"There are XX men... Total androgen insensitivity syndrome."

Oh dear...

Gotta say, the young GC ladies come out as far more coherent and well-informed than the TRAs.

ArabellaScott · 29/05/2025 21:57

The future looks very bright if we have women like this standing up. Informed, brave, rational, and calm. Awesome.

I've just watched the first 10mins, but what's interesting is how they are all using the same arguments and they are obviously flipping gender critical arguments to undermine them. But who is behind it? I'm guessing social media, but I wonder what accounts in particular.

I mean the arguments they are using are laughable, but I suppose it's all they have

Soontobe60 · 29/05/2025 22:17

What a load of absolute l**ns on that video!

It's a very good method of interviewing. I wish more people used it - not interrupting, asking reasonable questions, well edited.

But how can you teeelllllll?! They’re just swanning around in women’s toilets and we have no idea. Except for all those hench bearded transmen who are now going to come into the ladies. These people are so fucking deluded!

Fossilgreen · 29/05/2025 22:42

That was beautifully produced. Laughed out loud at some of the answers to ‘What is a woman’….they really don seem quite sure, and it’s all so terribly complicated…The GC young women were such a welcome burst of clarity in contrast.
It’s definitely an argument that the because the definition of biological sex is very simple it is therefore somehow also ‘reductionist’ and wrong.

WinterTrees · 29/05/2025 22:43

I've only been able to face about 10 minutes so far, but it seems very clear that TRAs simply aren't used to having to argue their case. For all these years they have sailed along on the crest of Stonewall law and 'most oppressed and vulnerable' propaganda, and when they're questioned or asked to explain or justify their position they have precisely nothing.

Except gigantic fake boobs, which yer man seems to think is his righteous passport into the ladies.

Seethlaw · 29/05/2025 23:14

The non-binary young woman is a good example of how gender is used as a catch-all for "not fitting in". She does not describe not feeling neither male nor female, even though when Wesley asks, she agrees that it's what it means to be non-binary. Instead, she's never fitted in, so she must be non-binary! Being unconventional becomes absorbed under the trans umbrella - even though it has nothing to do with gender!

Also: if I heard right, she says she's autistic. Well, that's exactly the process Dr Az Hakeem describes as to why so many autistic kids end up identifying as trans: because of their tendency to think in black-and-white, they conclude that if they don't fit in with the gender stereotypes of their sex, they must necessarily be the other sex. The idea that they can be their own sex but gender-non-conforming doesn't occur to them - and obviously, nobody involved in affirming them will tell them either.

This is all so wrong!
