Just in case anyone is interested the tribunal by an anonymous claimant against Andreas Mueller started yesterday with a private session and TT will likely start tweeting this afternoon (still unknown). AM helped set up the Civil Service SEEN and is being taken to the ET re his GC comments. I believe the claimant also wants the SEEN to be shut down. Naomi Cunningham is representing AM - so should be interesting.

Naomi is busy! Thanks for the headsup.

Tallisker · 23/04/2025 14:20

Is Tribunal Tweets covering this?

Rightsraptor · 23/04/2025 14:23

Will the rest of the hearing be public? I'd very much like to attend.

alsoFanOfNaomi · 23/04/2025 14:23

They say they hope to, but their last update, from this morning, was "We've just heard that the public session is unlikely to begin this morning, and we still await a link for remote access, but we'll keep you posted when we have more information."

If anyone wants to plant some flowers - google Andreas Mueller and crowdjustice. It's a proper witch hunt. From the crowdjustice page

Why am I being sued?
The allegations in the case include my activity on an internal message board, such as:

  • Challenging a post that equated gender critical people with racists and homophobes
  • Discussing the meaning of safeguarding following a post minimising genuine concerns by women about single sex bathrooms.
  • ‘Liking’ some gender critical posts
  • Asking colleagues not to publicly speculate on the motives for a murder which was still under active police investigation at the time

He's basically being put through hell for believing there are two sexes and that safeguarding matters and that calling sex realists names is wrong. One wonders what abuse of women and persecution of anyone recognising evidence-based science has been allowed in the organisation he works for (taxpayer funded) that anyone could think it's reasonable to take him to court for common sense within the law. How in holy hell has it got to this point where this has got to court?

myplace · 23/04/2025 14:47

Bloody hell. It’s a full time job keeping up with this. Have the fucking ideologues got nothing to do except hound and persecute people who stand up to them?
No wonder our productivity is so low.

Yes, this. It's no wonder there are potholes everywhere and no-one gets decent public services. They're all running around finding colleagues to metaphorically burn at the stake. What a waste of taxes.

TT write "We're hearing that there's insufficient time left to address the issues timetabled for today's public session and that new dates will be booked for this. "

loveyouradvice · 23/04/2025 19:45

very interesting ... one of very few men... hmmm....

BellerophonsPegasus · 23/04/2025 20:30

Andreas is a brave & principled man. We need more like him.

Insufficient time? Or, oh crap, if we go through with this after the SC judgement we're going to have our heads served up on a plate, so let's delay it and then pretend nothing ever happened.

I am out of the workplace now, but is anyone able to explain why the Civil Service or other taxpayer-funded bodies are paying for a messageboard where staff can pontificate about matters which have absolutely nothing to do with their day jobs? From my experience here and on the old BBC messageboards, nobody can just set a MB up and leave users to it. Moderation is always required and things get heated very quickly.

Surely the case will be dismissed? Or rather one would hope. Doesn't the SC judgement and the fact that being GC is a protected belief blow this all out of the water?

PriOn1 · 24/04/2025 15:22

Anyone any idea what is happening with this? Has it now been effectively shelved until a later date?

As a member of SEEN I’m interested to know how this will go.

As far as I remember it was Yammer/ Viva Engage which had an open section for "all company" posts. It has since been discontinued and Talk Guidelines introduced. One principle of the guidelines is that you can't slag of another staff network's beliefs. That has stopped most of this kind of thing.

There was a mirror case to this with a lawyer from Defra group. Don't know what's happening with it.

GreenAllOver · 24/04/2025 16:11

It was yammer - there was an MN thread at the time. I’ll see if I can find it later, and link it.

Justme56 · 24/04/2025 16:22

This is from the TT page. This was actually a preliminary hearing (my mistake) set for 2 days. The claimant has asked for anonymity (pending) and AM has asked for a ‘strike out’ on the basis of it being a vexatious complaint and has no chance of succeeding. I imagine as they didn’t have enough time they will have to allocate a new date to sort this out.

Chair of SEEN sued for saying 'only women menstruate' by Elspeth Duemmer Wrigley. Is the other one. Last update in March 2025 was that there are enough funds to take case forward.

Oh I forgot that GC man who got done for sending bomb threats to Merriam-Webster..and that one who openly admitted to beating up his partner on Twitter and only got a handful of negative responses from his GC followers.

GCism attracts abusive men like flies to shit.
