Here at the Bluestocking there's a place for all women. A break from Reality, and many laughs and stories to share. Have your fill of Tunnocks bars and tea cakes, sing feminist anthems, drink as much beer or gin or hot chocolate as you desire. It won't make you fatter or drunken but oh, it's fun. Sit in the garden with our Lion resident or the Quokkas and Capybara. Express your opinions loudly in Pedantry Corner. Ask for whatever you fancy to be served by our obliging Gerbil staff. Come in, all women, welcome!

Love the colouring pages - where are you producing these? Am wondering whether I can convert some photos and other images into colouring pages now… I see a huge distraction to doing proper work ahead of me.

MarieDeGournay · 28/04/2025 11:25

A friend of mine used to think that it was a Really Seriously Bad Thing to go over the lines in a colouring book, so she was afraid to use them when she was a little girl!

I think Co Pilot has had a update, or is starting to learn at a much faster speed.

I've just managed to get it to not only change the last picture it generated yesterday into a page to colour in, but also one from much earlier in the evening.

We may need to start worrying it's on its way to being sentient!

Oh dear!

I think AI has a long way to go, still. It just makes things up more often than not. That goes for the information it gives you, too, not just image generation. It confidently declares that such and such is the case, and if you look into it it certainly is not.

I became a little obsessed with this AI generated short

It's genuinely impressive. I don't know how much is the AI and how much the person who instructed it. The faults are still very obvious. The way the mouths and fingers move, especially the tongues. The teeth are inconsistent, as are limb lengths, possibly because the characters include a dwarf and hobbits? They're also recast in several shots. Elrond is far too smiley. But the Legolas lead guitarist gurning is spot on and Gandalf rapping in shades before enjoying a well earned ice cream...? The music though I cannot fault.

Altogether now, 'Gondor has no king 🎶' I always had Boromir down as a bass player.

When I first asked AI to tell me about me, it gave me a degree from NYU and Queen's Belfast. Even now when I ask it to help with job applications it will tell me.i have done such things as managed global certification processes. I haven't.

So four cans of Heineken, half a bottle of prosecco and half a bottle of Malbec later I have emerged. Liverpool were magnificent! It was glorious! DH is very happy.

I was annoyed by the team wearing their Champions shirts backwards, but I'll let it slide.

If you go to Google and type in Liverpool FC, it shows a celebration!

I didn't see the match, Myrtle, alas. I heard they had won, but only found out later it was 5-1! That's the way to do it!

Wasn't Arne Slot gracious in crediting Klopp with building the team? 'Must be a nice chap' is at the top of the job description for Liverpool manager, obvsSmile
Nice touch by Google👏

So, Magpie, if you channel your inner Liverpool team at the interview, you'll walk it.
The Cheerbils will be replaced on this occasion by the Gerbil Choir which will encourage you with their moving rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone'Grin

FuzzyPuffling · 28/04/2025 16:56

I have a paid singing gig at the end of the month. Hurrah!

FuzzyPuffling · 28/04/2025 16:58

And my local footy team is relegated.
Not hurrah.

The fifth goal was an own goal by Spurs but Salah was so close to It, it was just a matter of who touched the ball first.

Liverpool run a moneyball strategy. They get stats on everyone and pick players that don't look outstanding but turn out to be brilliant. They did the same with Slot and got character references as well. He has left his wife and kids in the Netherlands because they've got exams this year and the family didn't want to disrupt their education. Such a great guy - and his dad is always looking on smiling, proud as anything when Slot does media conversations.

@MarieDeGournay For reasons which would be outing to anyone in the know, both Cheerbils and a Gerbil Choir would be incredibly appropriate for this particular interview!

Magpiecomplex · 28/04/2025 17:44

Aha... could it be that you're being interviewed as a possible replacement for Darwin Nunez or Trent Alexander-Arnold [or 'Terence Trent D'Arby' as always comes into my head] who are likely to be leaving Anfield this summer??
Yes, I reckon that's it, sorry but you've totally outed yourself by that reaction to the gerbils singing YNWA😃

Damn it, I've been rumbled! Although Newcastle FC would obviously be the preferred option.

Oh, well done, Magpie. Splendid news.

I have a paid singing gig at the end of the month. Hurrah!

And HURRAH for Fuzzy, too.

I have had an entirely unremarkable day.
I'm trying to finish a book which is informative but dull so that I can read something a bit more interesting.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/04/2025 18:35

I seem to have hit an utterly exhausted phase - I can’t think why. I won’t be of much use in here (or anywhere) tonight - but I am quietly cheering everyone on with gigs, interviews, job hunts and colouring pages. At least I have managed to crochet some of the leaves I need, but I’m giving up now.

Early bed for me tonight, I think!

Boiledbeetle · 28/04/2025 18:37

The gerbil gospel choir will now be performing "You'll Never Walk Alone" in the bar.

FuzzyPuffling · 28/04/2025 18:43

Bless you Woley. I hope you get a good rest tonight. Perhaps you are over-crocheted?

Boiledbeetle · 28/04/2025 18:47

Oh my God!!

Right I've included screenshots to prove this was the first attempt.

I actually am gobsmacked!

And yes there is a tiny bit of a K missing! But still I'm gobsmacked!

Boiledbeetle · 28/04/2025 18:57

And with the leap in AI's spelling suddenly the education of the gerbils goes into fast forward!
