Scottish Greens being sexist again

With Sparkles no longer a member other male Scottish Greens have had to step up to continue their terrible reputation. They are doing their bit.

Scottish Greens council candidate claimed JK Rowling was a Holocaust denier and said trans rapist Isla Bryson was a woman
Exclusive: Eryn Browning has been chosen by the Scottish Greens to contest a by-election in Clydebank Waterfront but offensive historic posts have resurfaced.

There is hope the Scottish Greens might plunge into civil war after their conference. Patrick Harvie is standing down as leader but Slater is standing again and there is opposition over her elitist behaviour.

Greer getting worse and worse. Are the Scottish Greens really going to get MORE seats in May as predicted.

Ross Greer questions Sandie Peggie's 'reliability' and can't call Isla Bryson a man because he doesn't know enough about the case
The Scottish Greens co-leader dismissed claims that Sandie Peggie was a 'hero' as he defended his position of refusing to say whether trans double rapist Isla Bryson was a man or a woman.

can't call Isla Bryson a man because he doesn't know enough about the case.

Yet the other day claimed Bryson should have the gender of "rapist" or some such didn't he? Hasn't the courage of his beliefs in Trans rights to say that self Id means Bryson would be in a women's prison

DuesToTheDirt · 23/01/2026 13:17

@Lalgarh in the Nick Robinson interview, Greer is asked several times if Bryson is a man or woman, and just keeps repeating, 'Isla Bryson is a rapist.' He is then asked about self I'd and says he supports it for everyone. So, by implication, Isla Bryson is a woman if he says so.

I was just looking at Shahrar Ali's Facebook post on this and one of the comments says 'What a nasty line of questioning (which Nick Robinson is known for). Being a criminal doesn't change your gender identity and in asking the question, he is deliberately trying to conflate trans people and sex offenders. Same thing happened in the past with gay men.' These are the kinds of loons we are up against.

Modern politics, virtue signalling echo chambers, the corruption of the liberal project, and non existent holding to account by the media, means that specimens like Greer can make a fantastic career for themselves, just beyond decisive scrutiny, metaphorically able to get away with murder.
Imagine this was happening anywhere from the 1980s to 2010s. Can you imagine Sir Robin Day, Jeremy Paxman, Andrew Neill, Brian Walden, Brian Hayes etc letting these lying weasels get away with this?
I'm a right voter, and I see the same thing with Farage, all these figures are able to brazen their way thru interviews.
Even the Nick Robinson interview with Greer, he should have not let go (although Robinson is very late to honesty in the trans debate).

Scottish Greens backing the assisted dying vote in Hollywood..the news just had a clip of Lorna Slater tearing up at the the "beautiful" death her father had in Canada with MAID. Described it as falling asleep.

Lalgarh · 17/03/2026 22:14

Holyrood typo. Can't edit.

Scottish parliament has rejected

Lalgarh · 17/03/2026 22:28

Nicola Sturgeon (didn't realise she was still an MSP?) was interviewed after. She'd voted against BC of the lack of safeguarding and evidence.

Anyway here's Slater

Canada's MAID programme is what changed my mind away from my previous general agreement with the principal of assisted dying.

And I wouldn't trust the current iteration of the Scottish Government to run a PTA stall, let alone trust them to legislate robust safeguarding against familial and/or state coersion.

Sorry, did you say "lack of safeguarding and evidence"?? When has that stopped her before!

guinnessguzzler · 18/03/2026 06:31

That's good news about the Assisted Dying bill. As others, I wouldn't trust SG to oversee it safely and I'm afraid I also wouldn't trust the NHS to run it safely or effectively. Greens are completely unable to think about anything properly, so their support for it doesn't surprise me.

GinaWhoLikesADrink · 18/03/2026 08:22

I'm not religious but I actually feel as though Good has triumphed over Evil (for now, anyway!). I have treated many end-of-life patients and seen death in all manner of methods. I used to support the principle of assisted dying, because it seemed compassionate... but since experiencing coercive control I'm convinced that the bill would be abused by people with nefarious intent.

I noticed the Greens were the only party whose members all voted the same way. When I hear them speak, I get the feeling they are not capable of independent thought. Slater seems delighted when she talks about her dad's death. There's something uncanny about those people. Brainwashed, or sociopathic I'm not sure, but they all have cold, dead eyes and false smiles.

RoamingToaster · 18/03/2026 11:25

Slater described the death of her dad as “beautiful”. Maybe she was trying to get media coverage but it’s such a weird word to use if you like the person.

Canada and Zimbabwe if I remember correctly

BeSpoonyTurtle · 20/03/2026 08:16

I really struggle to understand how so many people are taken in by the Greens.

fromorbit · 22/03/2026 11:44

Roundup of Scottish Greens news. Starting with the worst news sounds like more internal drama means Chapman might return.

Maggie Chapman could be handed Holyrood reprieve as her Scottish Greens rival is suspended
The controversial Scottish Greens MSP was shunted down to number two on the North East Holyrood list meaning she had no chance of being re-elected, but the number one has now been suspended.

Mr Ingerson also filed complaints about Ms Chapman but these have been dismissed, and counter-complaints have been made about him - including from her - leading to his suspension while officials investigate this. The entire situation has led to a number of bust-ups, resignations and expulsions within the North East branch.

As AI use by children to do their homework/schoolwork becomes more and more common, I am not sure that getting rid of exams completely is wise. It is quite possible that the only way that we can be sure what someone actually knows is by using old school exams - no technology, just a pen, paper, a set of questions and their own brain.

Its not just that, though. Children need to work towards something and learn how to manage and navigate stressful situations. They nees to be challenged, coached, supported, and they need to learn resilience.

Removing all obstacles and stress from their path is ultimately very damaging.

Imho.
