Here for your delight and delectation is the hostelry by, for, and about wise, intelligent, creative and kind women, their assorted avatars including (but not limited to) a remarkable beetle, an astute android, a wise cake, and an assembly of companion creatures and animal assistants.

Food and drink available in abundance, all with remarkable non-damaging qualities.

Males may congregate in the nearby Staunch Ally and sometimes visit the stableyard to view outdoor performances by the gerbil waitstaff (who need to be distracted after the moment after that terrible 'misunderstanding' about the meaning of safe sex).

last thread here if you need to know why the Quokkas need some extra cuddles, and why the Cabybaras are being particularly efficient just now

I have come here, to a little pirate cabin by the sea.

I will walk along the beach tomorrow.

I will probably have chocolate soon, and another glass of wine. Because I'm on holiday, innit.

The hound is asleep on my bed. Bugger knows why; he slept the whole way in the car! Still, that's hounds for you.

This https://alemais.com/collections/dresses/products/surrealist-summer-midi-silk-dress?currency=GBP came up on another thread & it seems perfect for your holiday by the sea (busman's holiday for a pirate, surely?). There's a video & everything.

I asked the AI for some pix of your holiday &... 😂

Imagine that nightmare, strolling along the beach, your top starts sliding off and when you go to adjust your shoulder straps your hands have turned into great big (dead, but even so) lobsters.

Thanks AI

Blimey - norkage alert!!
Are recent Stockingers familiar with the term 'norkage'? It was used some while ago here, I had never heard it before and it made me laugh then and it still does😆

Well most of the above frocks are very norkage-revealing, aren't they?😦
I hope that's a v e r y sedate walk on the beach, otherwise the next images will need a sensitive image filter.

I hadn't spotted the scary lobster hands, Deano, I must've been distracted😊

The dog lobster hat is quite a nice nod to (googles) Nerval.

Terrific news!!!

I has a intervoooooo!!!!

Next Thursday at 10.
Recruiter will speak on Tuesday morning.

DH immediately brought out the prosecco and had the audacity to confess he assumed I would get the interview so he hadn't defrosted Friday night dinner and had already booked a table at our fave restaurant by the river for tonight.

🥂🍾

😂v funny!

AND it gives me an excuse to bring out my old Gérard de Nerval joke:

'Are you taking that lobster home for tea?'
'No' he's had his tea, I'm taking him to L'Opéra' Grin

MYRTLE you STAR!! Well done, you clever Bluestockinger.
The gerbils will have to get practising again..and have a special congratulatory hug from Rosy.

On another subject, I have used the words " norks" and " norkage" for many years. Not sure what that says about me.

MyrtleLion · 07/03/2025 14:49

As someone with massive norkage but being previously unaware of the term, I adore it! It conveys the right amount of silliness and respect they deserve. Boobage is similar but boobs is too silly.

Also, after years of procrastination and trying to get a broken part replaced, I have finished my ornamental clock.

It should work but some pieces keep moving out of place so it's completely ineffective as an actual clock.

I don't care because the joy for me is in the construction.

That's great news Myrtle! Enjoy your well-deserved celebration dinner tonight, and we'll have the gerbil cheerleaders practicing hard for Thursday a.m.😄

I've just seen Fuzzy's post, with similar plans for the gerbil cheerleaders. Get drilling, gerbils!Smile

Britinme · 07/03/2025 14:58

Fantastic news Myrtle - well done you! And great clock too.

Very prominent boobage or half lobster ... I know which one I'd rather be .... except with lobster claws it would be quite difficult to drink your hot chocolate

AsWithGlad · 07/03/2025 15:46

Congratulations, @MyrtleLion! What good news. I hope all goes well on Thursday.

What a supportive DH you have, too.

-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-

As to norkage, I vastly prefer that term to boobage. To me a boob still means a mistake, and my frontage is no mistake. It’s taken years of chocolate eating to get it to its present generous size.

Bannedontherun · 07/03/2025 15:58

Are there any small norkage owners on this thread, i feel quite isolated.

My daughter used to call hers breasticles

I am off to the beaver thread proving to be tres amusent

FuzzyPuffling · 07/03/2025 16:31

I'm with Banned -the beaver thread ( in Aibu) has definitely kept me entertained this afternoon. MN joy!

Congratulations! Love your DH too (or is it wishful thinking on his part, hoping you'll go back to work before you fill the whole house with miniature worlds?).

Just don't let the BuffaloBisonBeaverBeater know!

I didn't see the bison thread either. Clearly someone has Advanced Animal Anxiety!

ErrolTheDragon · 07/03/2025 16:43

I’ve been out most of the afternoon so as yet am in ignorance of beavers.
More signs of spring in the country park (a tree covered hill): narrowly avoided treading on a huge green frog on the path, then when we reached the pond there were seething, croaking orgiastic masses of dozens upon (literally upon) dozens of frogs.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 07/03/2025 16:47

Just checked out the beaver stuff. They were spotted near me a couple of years ago, apparently. I haven't seen one yet.

What was the buffalo thread? And has anyone used the immortal MN line 'Is it glue you're on?' - I'm going back for page 2.

FuzzyPuffling · 07/03/2025 16:48

Yep, glue has been mentioned.

Oh, I envy you the frogs. We only get occasional ones in the garden. I once visited an Open Garden & thought there must be motorbikes revving up nearby. Nope - it was just their pond full of frogs!

Thank you for pointing me in direction of the beaver thread in AIBU, it's brilliant, and wonderful input from our own, our very own, FuzzyPuffling.

I don't read AIBU because I've got drawn into some of the very difficult and sad cases and I get upset and wish I could just make it all all right which of course I can't so that makes me even more upset.. so I mostly stick to the Bluestocking these daysSmile

So it was wonderful to find such a gem over there, thank you😂
