Roll up, Ladies and Gentlecreatures, the Bluestocking has been redecorated

Here for your delight and delectation is the hostelry by, for, and about wise, intelligent, creative and kind women, their assorted avatars including (but not limited to) a remarkable beetle, an astute android, a wise cake, and an assembly of companion creatures and animal assistants.

Food and drink available in abundance, all with remarkable non-damaging qualities.

Males may congregate in the nearby Staunch Ally and sometimes visit the stableyard to view outdoor performances by the gerbil waitstaff (who need to be distracted after the moment after that terrible 'misunderstanding' about the meaning of safe sex).

last thread here if you need to know why the Quokkas need some extra cuddles, and why the Cabybaras are being particularly efficient just now

Or maybe the Welsh dragon found a discarded set of horns and decided to wear them as an adornment? Like a fascinator.

Edited

If it had been a real fascinator, he'd have been known as the 'DragDraig'Grin

Magpiecomplex · 02/03/2025 14:16

I asked for a fascinator and got a hat.

AI also doesn't know how many tepals daffs have. I noticed that in @MyrtleLion's image and it's done the same for me. I wonder if I can educate it on the differences between monocots and dicots?

Magpiecomplex · 02/03/2025 14:25

Daffs correct, but wrong colour dragon, or correct colour (but heraldic) dragon with monster daffs. I knew that wasn't going to be worth attempting!

Or are they normal sized daffs with a small dragon?

Yes, that's possible. Either way the proportions are off!

One for each day of the month.

I have an interview with a recruiter at 9am and I'm bricking it. I've never got beyond this point so I keep thinking I won't get past tomorrow.

I won't risk traumatising you with indecent AI cheerleaders, but we're all rooting for you. You'll knock their socks off, in a good way, I'm sure. 💐💐💐

Myrtle you are already a winner- just be your famous self! Don't forget the might of the Bluestocking is supporting you, and the gerbils will be outside your door squeaking you on!

Good luck. X

ErrolTheDragon · 02/03/2025 15:54

Glad you're enjoying the dragons.Grin
I'm not sure why mn favours the Welsh with both daffs and dragons (though not leeks) but afaik the only other national symbol available is Shamrock

Thank you! And @Magpiecomplex .

I like the thought of the gerbil cheerleaders. They will have to be very quiet as it's a video interview and I don't want the recruiter getting jealous.

FuzzyPuffling · 02/03/2025 16:32

The gerbils are experts at silent cheerleading, with special non-rustling pompoms.

And they'll be ready with a soothing hot chocolate as soon as you're finished.

MyrtleLion · 02/03/2025 16:38

We have a tradition where we have prosecco if I get an interview, prosecco on the day of the interview and champagne if I get the job.

So we should drink prosecco tomorrow night but it's a Monday...

That's just a regular emoji not an MN emoticon isn't it?

Yes. Are there special MN emojis? They are very tiny when I look at them. And that's only when my keyboard won't let me post an emoji.

DeanElderberry · 02/03/2025 17:15

🌹 sorry, trigger finder posting. Mumsnet have loads of emojis - click the little smiley face in the bottom rh corner and you'll be offered a menu - classed under (iirc, it's seconds since looked at it and forget so easily) actual smileys; natural world icons; food; techie stuff; flags; sport; special musnet-only.

The Bull?

The Archers threads use it.

Britinme · 02/03/2025 17:26

That looks like a banner. I don't actually know what it is, but I'd like to think that it was a banner with a gerbil on it. Imagine us tomorrow morning all mentally waving gerbil banners to accompany the gerbil cheerleaders with their sparkly but silent pompoms. Actually at 9am your time I will probably be asleep, but I will endeavour to slant my dreams that way. Good luck Myrtle!

Are Welsh dragons meant to have horns or has there been some experimentation with sheep?Confused

All the best for tomorrow morning, Myrtle. I will (probably) make sure I’m awake at 9am to think of you and the support gerbils.

There’s a fine little red dragon attached to some railings near me, but I can’t find a photo of it to attach. Will keep looking.
