What's it like with herding goats

Not sure he has ever met a goat. Goats tend to be a bit more of a challenge than sheep so the outcome is likely to be interesting

Boiledbeetle · 29/10/2024 19:18

It's not my fault I'm a kleptomaniac. I was born that way! There's a photo somewhere of me aged about 2 hiding a bowl of money under the living room rug!

I'm the one with the uncontrollable urge to nick shiny things!

how does one wrestle a Beatle down?

Oh hello, fancy seeing you here I was just bringing the box of Tunnock's to you! But I couldn't find you and everyone I passed wanted one until all I was left with was an empty box.

Honest!

inkymoose · 29/10/2024 19:20

@Bannedontherun you've managed to capture Boily at last! ... or is it all a dream?

Looks around....

No one looking in my direction?
...

Hey Boily, I found the perfect excuse for you - 'I didn't nick them, they ran away on their own two feet....'🙃
edited because I wrote Boilly which makes you sound like a wine!

<Hands over the current box>

I think they may be knock offs!

I didn’t know about Quokkas having that set up of reproductive anatomy. Very interesting.

Thank you for the suggestion @MarieDeGournay I will give it some thought.

Bannedontherun · 29/10/2024 19:25

Snow tubes? Are they any good?

Bannedontherun · 29/10/2024 19:27

I would just like to state on the record that I do not have an unhealthy obsession with Tunnocks. And I cannot for the life of me work out why everyone I meet thinks I'm addicted to them and that I take my love for them too far sometimes!

It is honestly a complete mystery!!

I think it was in the Faroes that a friend had the disconcerting experience of seeing puffins neatly packaged and covered with clingfilm in the supermarket meat section.

I missed this post earlier ... well!

... and clingfilm? What? I mean, they don't use clingfilm when they pack those tiny little songbirds they sell in small trays of six in France. How callous!

Dear lord, leave the pub for a day and find you're over a hundred posts into the new one!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/10/2024 19:45

I am feeling rather chocolate-deprived at the moment. I know it is for my own good, but I am sad. I have a bar of dark chocolate so I can have an occasional square, but it isn’t the same as a boat-load of Tunnock’s products.

I am thinking that I will let loose a bit at Christmas - I can’t see that an occasional treat is going to be disastrous. But we are going to ds1 and his family for Christmas, and none of them are particular fans of traditional Christmas cake, so I won’t be making one - which is a good thing, because I make a very rich, boozy cake with lots of icing and marzipan, and that would definitely have sent my blood sugar stratospheric.

What is your favourite sweet treat? Maybe get that in, then it might be easier to ignore the cheap crappy chocolate (I'm looking at you Roses chocolates!!!!)

I love Christmas cake. I don't make it any more because I'm the only one in the family that really likes it, and I'm therefore forced to eat it all myself in record breaking time.

Stratospheric blood sugar would be a bit problematic. I feel for you, Woley.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/10/2024 19:50

That’s a good idea, @Boiledbeetle - some posh Hotel Chocolat chocolates, maybe - so I just eat one, and savour it.

And some nice, crusty bread - I haven’t had bread since I was diagnosed. Good sourdough - mmmm!

I can hear mention of Christmas cake from miles away.
Volunteering to sample any recipes. Someone has to.

You are a martyr to the cause, @larklane17 - a modern heroine.

Yes! You know you're going to fall off the wagon, so bloody enjoy it whilst you're falling!

Apparently my Christmas cake ingredients are soaking at the moment. I believe (if I was listening correctly) I'm getting brandy this year as opposed to last year when it was sherry!
