Workers Party is Galloway’s merry band

I don’t understand your point about the NI psrties

The Heritage Party was founded by David Kurten as a split from UKIP.

Most parties only stand the number of candidates where they can realistically put in enough resources to make a difference.

Katherine Murphy's statement. Shame about the last line.

I am a grooming-gang/child-sexual-abuse survivor who was filmed and raped while drugged unconscious in the late 80s.I'm focused on:- No men in Women's sports. - No men in Women's jails. - No perverts or porn addicts in Women's, children's, and vulnerable people's private spaces, especially in hospitals and schools. - No trans invasion of gay and lesbian spaces. No Woman has a penis. I will not be swayed by popular opinion. My doctorate is in Computer Science and I work in the crypto field.I am a student of A Course In Miracles.

Where is that from? That's not her statement. Her statement is here:

You haven't even got her name right.

Thanks for pointing that out.

SinnerBoy · 16/06/2024 21:24

To be fair, if A Course In Miracles is helping Katherine Mary Murphy to maintain her mental health, I am inclined to pay it no heed. I'm no fan of religion, but it does seem to help some people who've suffered trauma, or to keep on an even keel, after a life of criminality etc.

I would love to be close enough to campaign with these women. Does anyone know if donations to the party get split between the candidates or do we support them as individuals? Have they all been able to cover their deposit? I am so pleased to see these strong women out there and hope they will raise their voices enough to give the major parties something to think about.

That information page about candidates is the equivalent of Wikipedia. Information submitted by random people and posted without any checks. I have looked at the equivalent page for my constituency and it is just as bad. I don't know who the people are that collate that page, but they don't bother to check anything. So not helpful.

Yes I was going to say something similar, and feel bad now because initially I did use it as a source of info eg their spreadsheet.

But really unprofessional to let random posters sub "information" about a candidate.

If they have got the time to set up a spreadsheet of all candidates, you would have thought they could just as easily find the web link or twitter feed of each candidate.

(I wonder if some of us should try and get it changed or alert PoW?

There is a button called "ballot bucket" which is a general POW fundraiser, and some of the candidates have their own ongoing fundraisers. Yes, any surpluses are being shared out. You can also fill in a form to say you can help them individually in whatever way you like.
Please bear in mind that this party was only registered in February this year, it's candidates are ordinary women who are completely new to politics.
POW candidates welcome any practical help, if you've taken part in elections before.
I'm part of the national team who are determined that this is only the start.
We want to encourage and train many more women in how to be part of the democratic process, everything from school governors and parish councillors, up to council, mayoral, and national elections.
Thanks to anyone who is willing to help, and please join as member!

No candidate here but well done to get 16.
Anyone know who is standing for The Women's Equality Party - I can only find the 2017 candidates on their website - there were 5. Its rather depressing reading their spiels but of course that is my view and perhaps they have grown in strength and number of candidates?
Anyhow it shows me that PoW is packing quite a punch for such a new party.
Hope they make their presence felt. Unfortunately the WEP don't appear to be.

There is a WEP candidate standing in Caerfyrddin.

sawdustformypony · 17/06/2024 21:11

And in the neighbouring constituency too, Mid and South Pembrokeshire. Dunno why.

From facebook:

50:50 Parliament is tickled pink to announce that 98 women from our community are standing in the General Election!

These women represent the breadth of the political spectrum and come from a variety of backgrounds

Some started their journey with us and some found us along the way.
Some have been trained and mentored by us and some have simply enjoyed being part of a network of like-minded women

We are delighted to have supported these women, in all of their glorious diversity, to find their political home and strike out into a career in politics

We are rooting for all of them! Women belong in all places where decisions are being made!

Here's to more fantastic women breaking barriers and getting seats at the top table

Bexhill and Battle hustings didn't exclude PoW candidate from hustings!

Just some short clips but might be enjoyed.

I cant download them as I just "borrow" acess to X.

Thet are also on facebook, but using that link brings up comments from FB friends and not sure if these are private, so didn't post here on public forum.

But if you are on FB search for Julia Long

Also if anyone is in Sheffield Central - Alison Teal was suspended from the Green Party on vague allegations of transphobia and is now standing as an independent.

I don't know that much about her, but she sounds a sensible and experienced candidate.

https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/politics/suspended-alison-teal-leaves-the-green-party-and-stands-as-independent-in-sheffield-central-4659478

She also has a crowdfunder to support her campaign.

Imnobody4 · 20/06/2024 21:53

Julia Long #DareToBeHonest and she certainly was
Fantastic hustings #BexhillAndBattle

For those asking about Kelly Oliver Dougall in Tynemouth, I have had dealings with her in a previous lifetime. It's about a decade since I had anything to do with her though so she may be different now. Honestly, I was never a massive fan but she does put herself in front of people whose attention she wants and isn't backwards in coming forwards. This is useful skill.

I'm just relieved I actually have somebody to vote for as I was resigned to spoiling my ballot (and was actually losing sleep over it!)

@SinnerBoy you and I must be near neighbours
