Tommy Robinson and Let Women Speak

I've only read about this on Twitter so there's a chance this is being taken out of context, but it looks like Let Women Speak were part of Tommy Robinson's rally in London this past weekend:

This doesn't sit right with me at all. I've been to LWS events and thought I knew what they were about. I've argued against the guilt-by-association tactics that some activists use against LWS when male intruders have turned up to the events, like the neo-Nazis in Melbourne.

But here we see the opposite, LWS deliberately attending far-right fascist marches. This seems inexcusable to me.

I'm obviously a racist gammon.

😁 I don't even know what that means. I thought gammon meant white man!

Are they calling Aja, a black woman, a white man?

I'm actually laughing my arse off. This is the most bizarre thing I've ever read.

CassieMaddox · 06/06/2024 00:14

Datun · 06/06/2024 00:06

That's right. Terf Island.

. Wrong post

TempestTost · 06/06/2024 00:14

CassieMaddox · 05/06/2024 23:23

I'll ask you as well. Do you think women can be misogynists?

Occasionally, but mostly they aren't.

There are certainly black racists, but usually towards some other group of people, like Asians or Europeans, or sometimes against black people from another place.

There's a high bar to make a claim that someone black, or a woman, is self hating, just because you don't quite fathom her beliefs. A more likely explanation is you are not understanding what she thinks, are making assumptions, or have a simplistic view of the issue.

Datun · 06/06/2024 00:15

CassieMaddox · 06/06/2024 00:14

OK. You have no alternative explanation.
Well I'm going yo say if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck I'll assume it's a duck until there is evidence to the contrary.

I thought she was gammon?? 🤣

Hepwo · 06/06/2024 00:16

Walking like a duck? That's cleared up the marching question then. Aja was walking like a duck.

Hepwo · 06/06/2024 00:17

Can we have duck walking photos?

LarkLane · 06/06/2024 00:18

Brown person is proud of her country. and has the guts to say it at a far right rally whilst in possession of a leaflet on safeguarding.
Shock Horror.

Datun · 06/06/2024 00:18

Where's @Boiledbeetle when you need her

CassieMaddox · 06/06/2024 00:19

Lovely far right apologism.
Adults can go to far right rallies to hear the opposing side.
But stonewall have brainwashed everyone.

One can't assume a woman at a TR rally is far right, even if they are representing themselves in a way completely consistent with being far right.

One can however call a woman a child abuser if she posts a photo of her trans identified child's birthday and uses preferred pronouns.

Get real.

Hepwo · 06/06/2024 00:20

How does the duck walk?

The duckwalk is a form of dance performed by assuming a low partial squatting position and walking forwards, maintaining the low stance. It is similar to stalking and prowling. It is most widely known as a stage element of guitar showmanship popularized by rock 'n' roll guitarist Chuck Berry.

Yes. Quite. Going to a far right rally should be greeted with shock and horror. That's exactly the point.

Anyway. I'm sure lots of people are going to be won over to the GC cause now. Sunlight is helpful.

Maybe she's too sensible to do far right apologism? The thread does seem to be missing a few of the people who'd normally be happy to ridicule me.

TempestTost · 06/06/2024 00:25

Honestly Cassie, people like you are why many are losing faith in the left, including among non-white people.

FarmerJilly · 06/06/2024 00:25

Who and what are the “soc fems”?

I've seen a lot of Islamophobia expressed by people from non white, not Muslim backgrounds.

I don't think being white is a criteria to supporting TR, sadly.

It's a bit like the number of Mexicans thar support trump despite his bigly wall.

Or the number of women that support Fathers for Justice despite the fact they are totally misogynist.

Humans are human regardless of their sex or ethnicity.

Datun · 06/06/2024 00:26

What, you've identified something that you think will damage the cause so the best thing to do is shout it from the rooftops, write post after post speculating that the person concerned is a homophobic racist, and claim she and the organisation she was talking about are far right agitators 😄

I bloody hope you don't work in sales

I hate to tell you this, but we absolutely don't have to do that

CassieMaddox · 06/06/2024 00:29

FarmerJilly · 06/06/2024 00:25

Who and what are the “soc fems”?

A bunch of feminists who live in Brighton and are left wing. Many in Womens Place UK. They fell out with Kellie Jay Keen a while ago and that is now used a convenient excuse to write off any criticism of LWS or KJK.

Basically you can dismiss any objectionable behaviour as "socfems smearing KJK and her associates". Even attending Tommy Robinson rallies, apparently.

I am past caring Datun because as far as I'm concerned the time for being concerned about it was a couple of years ago, when you guys were claiming any right wing allegations were purity spirals by TRAs.

The damage is done now. Unfortunately at the cost of women and children.

CassieMaddox · 06/06/2024 00:35

TempestTost · 06/06/2024 00:25

Of course. People who don't like the far right force other people to be far right. It's a well known fact.

It's like how people who don't like trans ideology, force other people to be TRAs.....

Or how having laws, forces people to be criminals.....

oh hang on Confused

Datun · 06/06/2024 00:42

I'm going to leave it there, Cassie. This thread has taken a very bizarre turn.

As I've said before, it may be personal for you, but this feels on another level altogether.

FarmerJilly · 06/06/2024 00:53

I think Cassie’s right. This is about political principles. It turns out that many on this thread don’t have any

No.

There are a whole range of political principles and values, and the many of us you refer to might have some different principles to you and Cassie, but that doesn't mean the same as not having any.

FarmerJilly · 06/06/2024 01:05

No.

Many people on this thread have shown themselves not to have the courage of their convictions. They are much more focused on who they like and defending their favourites than they are on political principles
