I'll be happy with a long sleeved, not arsed about the neckline.

Boiledbeetle · 25/04/2024 15:37

I wonder if Aston will ever have to credit themselves with us finding a new way to voice our displeasure? Cake? So 2023. AI t-shirt designs much more 2024!

I'm down for one. Long sleeved. Winter PJ top. The upstairs of our house tends to the fucking freezing.

DH, poor sod, will be completely baffled.

And @AlisonDonut fabulous phrase.

Bloody love FWR.

I cannot take full credit, I bastardised it from Barry Wall and his Gender Addled Grievance Gerbils. It's a team effort all round.

I thought 'grievance gerbils' sounded familiar. That would be why.

SoupDragonsFriend · 25/04/2024 17:08

I needed a break from my work. (Love the gerbil t-shirts by the way.)

Never let it be said that FWR is anything but diligent when it comes to properly citing references. I have been keeping a note of relevant items on this thread so far (just thread #2) because I thought Aston might be finding the bibliographic side of the discussion a bit much when they come to unravel what the hell this spectacularly wide-ranging dialogue is all about. I know that referencing can be daunting.

I have been using MLA9 but I may have slipped up sometimes and used Harvard by accident. Also there may have been other errors and omissions. This is a draft.

I'm quite excited because my new thing learnt today has been to learn how to cite X messages in MLA9 thanks to Barry Wall's indirect contribution (see below): a new skill I may never need to use again.

I’ve just laughed at this and found myself trying to explain all the in jokes to my long-suffering wife. Someone cure me of my obsession with gender stuff!

It does make me wonder how Astons AI copes with in Jokes across multiple threads. After all the link between this thread and the beetroot thread doesn't exist in any meaningful way that AI could determine surely?

AlisonDonut · 25/04/2024 17:33

God i hated doing my bibliographies at the end of every fucking essay.

Well done @SoupDragonsFriend I am very impressed.

Bagpuss was to expensive for the photo shoot.

And blame the AI not me for the ' in gerbils!!

Right, I've been sitting in a dull and irrelevant seminar so...

Drum roll...

T shirts are here

https://grimut-gerbils.teemill.com/collection/womens/

The caveats:

The appearance is horrible. I am sorry. I made a mistake and can't change it.

Only one style for now, this will change.

The jumpers are all they do long-sleeved and in teal; the t-shirts are cheaper but not the right colour. This is one of the problems with Teemill.

Finally, I can't not make a profit on this, it won't let me. So which charity benefits? We could nominate one, or I can keep it as gardening funds, to be put in wherever needed. (I also now have a burner email and a twitter feed...)

Sorry nothing creative but ...

Even though I am not on twitter have found I am blocked of sotwe.com (is a web tool that lets you view, analyze and download tweets from Twitter. You can see the latest trends, popular users and hashtags, and explore tweets by location, date and topic)

So either my IP address or use of the word transphobia has triggered something.

But really strange tactic for a company offering to help you analyse tweets etc., if it then blocks you for some unspecificed reason.

The virtual world is getting more and more Orwellian.

NonVerbalHateCrime · 25/04/2024 18:26

I can log in and see results for transphobia, so IP address? But odd

Anyone randomly happening upon that site will be clicking on the options scratching their head thinking the person running it has lost their marbles!

I do like the two click boxes that say women and women!

SoupDragonsFriend · 25/04/2024 18:35

Maybe its a free gerbil with every t-shirt? Have they been breeding? Has a random male snuck in?

Winnading · 25/04/2024 18:40

Boiledbeetle · 25/04/2024 11:01

That would certainly out you as a FWR mumsnet poster!

Yeah but not which MN fwr poster. You put em up on one of the tshirt selling sites, I'll buy one of each item

IwantToRetire · 25/04/2024 18:41

If it is IP address how would they have decided to block it.

I'm not on twitter, but do post not very often on facebook.

I'm actually not bothered as I pay little attention to twitter, but lets say I did want to do research and see what was being said across platforms on the internet, I couldn't do it (well using their services).

How odd.

So.... It's been a busy day! Which you'll discover by the time you catch up with your own post!
