The Murray Blackburn Mackenzie letter detailing how issues were flagged with ScotGov has I’m sure been discussed elsewhere on FWR. Lucy Hunter Blackburn has been posting about it all on TwiX, & has revealed that ScotGov decided, having promised they would issue specific guidance regarding it not being a crime to, eg, correctly sex (or “misgender”) someone, reneged on doing so.
Obviously they had an excellent reason for this volte face, given they were being advised it was needed off the back of the multiple court cases enshrining the protection of gender critical beliefs in law & highlighting that rights must be balanced etc.
Ahahahahahahahaha.
After the act was passed, the follow-up meeting to discuss the guidance was a singular event that shaped my future political career. At that meeting ministers decided that they would not add clarifying real-world scenarios involving gender-critical feminists as there was nothing to gain, and it would upset the
transgender lobby.
But of course - what are women’s rights, anyway. “Nothing to gain” - Merciful Christ on the cross & his Holy Mother weeping THE SHEER FECKING ARROGANCE OF IT 🤬
