nauticant · 22/01/2024 14:57

Roz Adams was employed by Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) as a counsellor. She is claiming constructive dismissal for Gener Critical (GC) beliefs. The CEO of ERCC is a well known transwoman known for, among other things, controversial "reframe your trauma" remarks.

There's live tweeting from https://twitter.com/tribunaltweets or if Twitter doesn't show the tweets, look at https://nitter.net/tribunaltweets. There's an informative substack here: https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/adams-vs-edinburgh-rape-crisis-centre

This post explains how to get access to watch the hearing: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/4988632-another-gc-employment-tribunal-roz-adams-vs-edinburgh-rape-crisis-centre-2?page=24&reply=132419912

I'm not watching, I chose to listen only, sorry.

GCITC · 23/01/2024 11:48

It must be a little soul destroying as a witness when you are taken to a document immediately after giving an answer, because you know damn well the document is going to go against what you've said. And then you have to sit there and read it whilst everyone watches you and make up some sort of answer that doesn't make you look like a lier.

AlisonDonut · 23/01/2024 11:48

I peeled and chopped and rinsed all the potatoes to put a load of mash on whilst she looked for the texts from the line manager offering support.

OhBuggerandArse · 23/01/2024 11:48

As the audience came out for the break I spotted (the backs of the heads of) Lucy Hunter Blackburn and Michael Foran - will look forward to their write-ups!

To watchers. If NC is middle of 3 in desk closest to camera who are other 2?
Is one of them ERCC legal counsel?

The arm on the left is that of MR Hay for the respondent. The woman on the right seems to be working for the claimant along with NC. I assume the solicitor that would have questioned witnesses it NCs eye hadn't healed so quickly.

This is showing the massive gulf between how nice caring and compassionate Roz who had centred the service user, but also didn't want to upset a fellow support worker, and how bolshy "don't want to talk about it as you are a violent and humiliating person" AB were treated.

They can't say Roz wasn't discriminated against for her beliefs, because she obviously was! Not only that it wasn't even that she was stating her beliefs, but that the other staff members were literally assuming what she actually meant when she said something innocuous and moderate.

Very like the difference between how the OU treated Jo Phoenix and how it treated the people who were harassing her

Appalonia · 23/01/2024 11:53

Reminds me of that saying, those who believe absurdities will commit atrocities. Or words to that effect.

Roz. Jo. It really should be another 'are we the bad guys?' moment, but obviously won't be.

I wish they'd ask, if victims never see men, how come MW has said she sees 4 clients a week, to 'keep it fun'?

KM: Transmen are at risk in men's single sex spaces because they're trans and not because they're women.

Edited

Apart from genuinely body dysmorphic people using women's toilets, there are others in wigs and frocks with bad intentions. Taking used sanitary products out of the sanitary bins and using them to masturbate with. Taking selfies of their erections showing through the dresses and skirts or sometimes just exposed, and uploading said selfies to their autogynephilic sites. Very few "trans" people have had bottom surgery because they are actually heterosexual men who have achieved the dream of invading women's spaces as and when they like. There is a lot of naivete showing on here about what is really going on, which is understandable because most mainstream media won't cover it.

They don't see men because MW is not a man.

I imagine at this point the words are probably jumping alll over the page as well when she is trying to read!

Jumped out of my bloody skin as the sound came back on.

Yes the contrast is stark - Roz who from everything we've seen is actually doing her job and doing it well, yet is cast out as a heretic for the very reason of doing her job well and the zealots who are in the bullying 'in crowd' who clearly have absolutely no thought to the service users needs at all.

It's truly shocking.

I hope NC will now contrast the evidence to clearly show the difference between the way AB and RA were treated.

The most care that was shown was 'when are you coming back to work?' which is incredibly unfeeling (coming back to work to be bullied and abused - presumably they were missing having the victim of the witch hunt on hand to see her tears in the flesh)

I also still can't get my head around how sex is personal information that cannot ever be mentioned (despite it being immediately obvious by sight and sound) but it's fine to mention gender? Why the inconsistency? I know, I know, this ideology makes no sense, ever.

I think those comments were made when MW was in a different post at a different RCC, & there was something in the interview which was missed out in a quote which is doing the rounds, between the bits about seeing clients & keeping it fun: MW was talking about cooking for the team to keep it fun.

GCITC · 23/01/2024 12:02

It's telling that employees of ERCC think trans identifying people should not have to work with Roz, but are perfectly happy putting rape victims with males, and not telling them that they are seeing a male.

Boiledbeetle · 23/01/2024 12:03

Don't know what email they are currently discussing

Boiledbeetle · 23/01/2024 12:05

Witness now reading an email from AB to Kim? And MW

Appalonia · 23/01/2024 12:06

AB doesn't feel confident to go to a team meeting?
