A thread of court cases involving people with 'gender critical' beliefs. So they are all in one place. I'll try and add links to court judgements where I can find them.

I'll add cases as I have time but please feel free to add others and/or remind me of any I've missed!

  1. Maria McLachlan, Tara Wolf. Assault by beating/battery.

'Tara Wolf (also known as Tara Flik Wood), a trans-identified male, stood trial for striking 60-year-old Maria MacLachlan three times in Hyde Park on September 13th 2017, where women had gathered to attend a meeting called “We Need to Talk About Gender” at a yet-to-be-disclosed location. Wolf was found guilty of “assault by beating,” more commonly known as “battery.”'

Jen Izaakson reports from the courtroom, as Tara Wolf is tried for assaulting Maria MacLachlan.

Whilst good news, I wonder how much employers are actually taking on about the subject? This being the same week that an ambulance trust is in the news, because it is "allowing" a TIM to use the women's facilties, with the result that they are avoiding the toilets and showering at home?

When is a judge going to simply say, "No. You know exactly what the law means, but you have decided that your policy Trump's it; it does NOT." ?

Remember that the wheels of justice grind slow. These are cases from years back, only now coming to be settled. Of course many employers are continuing to discriminate, also.

Sara Morrison v Belfast Film Festival

A loss for Sara Morrison.

'A former Inclusion/Audience Development Coordinator has lost her claim against Belfast Film Festival for discrimination, harassment and constructive dismissal.

Sara Morrison was employed by the Belfast Film Festival (BFF) for more than four years between February2020 and November 2024, when she resigned.'

SM is considering her options.

there was no hint of regret for, or doubt about, what she did. As you’ll know ‘I’m standing up for the rights of women’ is the argument used by conservatives and religious people in several countries, and a new staple of the anti-LGBTQ anti-Islamic right.”

Well quite. Best drown the witch, then. Also, so being anti-Islamic is terrible and wrong, but being anti-Christian is just fine and dandy/?

I am 100% on Sarah’s side and will donate if she chooses to appeal to a higher Tribunal.

The process behind this judgement contained some strange elements on the part of the Tribunal service to the point where I think the case could do with a hearing by a higher panel.

Edit: sausage fingers😬

Agree, Utopia. A really fucking weird, and to my unqualified mind, incorrect, judgment.

I think that the case needs to be appealed as the Tribunal itself was so flawed what with the dodgy "Professor" who had to recuse herself & the bias of the remaining members.

Allison Pearson v Essex Police PCC

https://archive.ph/N9Ju7

Allison Pearson, the Telegraph journalist, has received an apology and five-figure payout from Essex’s police and crime commissioner (PCC), after suing him for defamation.
Roger Hirst, the elected official who oversees policing in Essex, has issued a public apology for comments he made after police officers visited Pearson over a post on X that the police alleged incited racial hatred.

Pathways puberty blocker trial - JR

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0jl4np49w1o

'A high-profile clinical trial of drugs that can delay puberty in children questioning their gender can go ahead after the High Court rejected a legal challenge by campaigners.
The Pathways trial, run by researchers at King's College London (KCL), will start recruiting more than 220 children aged between 11 and 16 years old from 1 August.'

A young person with long hair tied in a ponytail looks of her bedroom window. They are in shadow, while the roofs of other houses are clearly visible and there are trees in the background.

'A detective who said "all men" were rapists and should be given a curfew to stop sex attacks at night has been sacked. Detective Constable Rachel Fletcher, who worked in safeguarding at Northumbria Police, has been subject to a misconduct hearing. '
She was accused of saying "all men" were rapists and they should be given a 9pm curfew to stop sex attacks at night. Det Cons Fletcher was also accused of describing transgender women as "c**ks in frocks".

A panel, sitting at Houghton-le-Spring police station, found that she made the comments and had breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to Discreditable Conduct, Authority, Respect and Courtesy and Equality and Diversity. Chair of the panel, Assistant Chief Constable Andrew Hill, said the proved allegations amounted to gross misconduct. '
