To Facebook staff and journalists who may not be aware of the facts:

This Facebook post is advertising the sale of a t-shirt. A t-shirt with a quote from a person who was originally jailed for kidnapping and torturing someone and then convicted while behind bars of the attempted murder of another inmate. The same quote meant this person was returned to prison as they broke the conditions of their release.

Facebook is condoning the selling of t-shirts with a recognisable image of this person shouting the same phrase through a megaphone. This image is taken from the incident which meant the person was returned to prison. The image is bordered with chains. And has two gun sight target motifs either side of the word that is the subject of the threat of violence.

(It possibly has guns in the bottom right hand corner but it is unclear). The quote is a direct order to incite violence.

Facebook say this advert for the sale and distribution of these t-shirt does not go against their community standards.

The problem is that facebook is operating in a virtual vaccuum.

And their system doesn't allow for the fact that we are reporting what is a crime in the UK.

So I wondered, if apart from reporting to the police as it is a UK crime incident, whether we can report of the Internet Watch Foundation. I suspect they wont think it is as serious as some of the content they have to deal with but they might suggest which is the route an ordinary UK user cant report an illegal act that facebook is promoting.

Strange, I also reported one of the person's who shared it on their wall, they had red hearted the original post, anyway I've just had a notification from facebook saying
"We removed the post that you reported
We reviewed the post you reported. As it breached our Community Standards, we removed it. We let said person know that their post has been removed, but not who reported it.
If someone repeatedly breaches our standards, we may limit their ability to post or use Facebook."

And yet, the main account sharing this nonsense post that I also reported is still up. I asked for a re-review and am waiting on the response of that one??

Yeah, I got the same response. Depressing that FB thinking punching women in the face is just fine and dandy.

I would like them to confirm, specifically however, that they support VAWG, and that advocating the beating of women is acceptable in their community standards.

No weaselling, no fluff, own it. State it straight out. 'We stand for the battering of women and men who perpetrate VAWG'. Let's hear it. Loud and proud. Why isn't there a flag yet?

I got message yesterday basically saying 'It's fine, were leaving it up' So I requested a review and now It's saying post not available. But I've not had a message saying its been removed.
