I suspect by tomorrow there will be petitions and accusations of transphobia against the police, and endless columns written about a "vulnerable" person being mistreated.

All dressed up to show that Terfs are "literal" violence.

And I am not saying this as a joke.

No doubt the TRAs will be saying "SJB was only joking, meant no harm, what's wrong can't you terfy women take a joke. It's not like SJB actually meant go and actually hit a woman! SJB was just letting their passion for trans rights get the better of them. It's not like SJB would ever actually do anything violent, SJB is a kind gentle misunderstood fragile woman" etc etc etc etc etc!

Awwww all he wanted to do was punch people (preferably women) in the face for not agreeing he was in fact a lovely woman. Nasty police people 😢

So literal threats of violence aren't literal. But other things are literal violence that aren't. I think the word 'literal' is now meaningless.

If Baker doesn’t get recalled to prison, I hope he has learnt a lesson, been shaken by his arrest. He must have felt invincible, but I worry his narcissism may cause him to double down on the violent rhetoric, martyr himself for attention with the full might of the TRAs behind him, a hero for the cause.

Yeah bet they are regretting that 'literal violence ' became a well used phrase now.

Also Baker reportedly said ' I am a person of my word' when recounting the bollock chopping off incident after he'd threatened to do it after being refused oestrogen. So Bakers 'didn't mean it, wouldn't harm a fly' defence may look rather flimsy.

I don't care too much what happens to Baker although I'd rather Baker is recalled back to the big house of course.
But the message this will send to his supporters/ trans community everywhere is huge... you can't get away with this, you're not being protected by the state if you DO go and 'punch a terf'.

You'll always get nutters like Baker but my ire was directed more to the Met, Khan and anyone else in a position of authority who originally turned a blind eye

But women get put in cells without sanitary protection. And I remember that our sticker woman from Wales had to threaten to pee on the floor, before they would let her go to the loo.

If the decision to charge would potentially involve him going back to prison, I imagine that the CPS will make that decision rather than the police.

I recall one police officer saying that the joke in his station was that CPS really stands for the 'Criminal Protection Service'

He won't be going back to prison, there will be no Sarah Jane Baker listed as having even gone to prison.

I'd love to be wrong but this is all 'lets pretend we are arresting him to shut the publicity down'.
