Just thought I would start a thread on this, for those who are thinking of coming.

And also to link to some new information from LWS here - which is optional - https://www.standingforwomen.com/event-details/reformers-tree-let-women-speak-2023-05-28-13-00

Cheers for the reminder!

Pixiedust1234 · 22/05/2023 23:32

I will be thinking of everyone who goes and hope it will be a good one ❤

IwantToRetire · 23/05/2023 00:43

Partly a reminder to myself as I forgot to watch last time.

And also in case anyone wants to help keep the events going thought the link might be useful!

Thanks, I'll be there, coming down from Glasgow for it.

It's important to me.
I was at Women won't wheesht in Govan on Sunday.

I am sure it will be brilliant. Have a great day.

Just a thought, if there is another Women Wont Wheesht event, and it is appropriate, why not post a thread here on FWR as it might reach women who wouldn't have heard about it, and show that its not just LWS, but that women all over the UK are speaking up.

I posted about the Glasgow one the other week.
It's in Ayr on the 25th of June, I'm actually supposed to be away that weekend but have been invited to something on the Friday night so seeing if I can rearrange some things to be there.

Sorry - I must have missed your post. I do find the indexing etc., on mumsnet not that easy to navigate, and the search function doesn't always seem to work. Will try harder!

It's OK, it dropped down the page pretty quickly and it was the first WWW.
There's going to be more so hopefully more people will come.

I will be there! I don’t necessarily agree with everything KJK says but I agree with common sense, not gaslighting and stereotyping women, not pushing sexualised agendas onto children and the right to critical thinking and debate.

For those of us who will be watching online see tweet screenshot below.

It was a good afternoon. The sun shone, the police were nice (I stopped to thank a couple on my way back to the tube) and women got to speak (albeit to the backdrop of endless whining from the TRA lines). I met a lovely lady from Cardiff and caught up with people I met last time.

Apparently there were some TRA arrests though, does anyone know what went on there?

Wish I had known about this event. I could have attended. How was it publicised?

clearly, I am not fully in the loop — I also don’t understand the phrase “Women Wont Wheesht”. What does it mean?

It’s from Scotland, and means “women won’t shut up”. I think it came out of the refusal of the SNP to listen to women during the lead up to the Gender Recognition Reform bill.

SidewaysOtter · 28/05/2023 20:49

Thanks @Yellowbuckets - what made them arrest him?

@Inamuddle36 its the last Sunday of every month at the Reformer’s Tree in Hyde Park (near Speaker’s Corner) https://www.standingforwomen.com/events

Fair enough then, he deserved to be arrested.

SidewaysOtter · 28/05/2023 21:09

Aww, they’re almost cute! Grin

FrancescaContini · 28/05/2023 21:14

Sounds like Tinky Winky et al.

I’m going to attend one of these very soon. Thanks for the reminder.
