Just thought I would start a thread on this, for those who are thinking of coming.

And also to link to some new information from LWS here - which is optional - https://www.standingforwomen.com/event-details/reformers-tree-let-women-speak-2023-05-28-13-00

I don't know if the rumours about arrested guy are true, but it's another good reminder that this isn't a simple case of two sides. KJK's side is peaceful free speech for women. Men who are genuinely on KJK's side turn up and listen, and maybe speak if all the women have first. Men turning up for a fight are on their own side, quite possibly a homophobic, transphobic AND misogynist one.

So not actually gender critical then.

thirdfiddle · 29/05/2023 11:57

What is Turning Point UK? Not any GC group that I've heard of.

What's the collective noun for that school of traditionalists, kind of BNP adjacent - not necessarily right wing but men should be real men, women should be real women, stereotype enforcing not critical? Conservative with a small c maybe.

No, they are piggybacking on let women speak. As the socialist worker party is noe piggybacking to the tra/ antifa crowd which apparently they don't like at all.

thirdfiddle · 29/05/2023 13:26

Are TRA and the surprisingly authoritarian "antifa" actually deliberately in league then?

So?

is this another of those guilt by association whatsits?

I completely missed the arrests, I'm assuming they happened whilst the women were speaking?
I was facing Kelly Jay so not near the TRAs and I'm only 5 ft so could only see the top of their signs.
I did get to hear everyone speak though which was great, hopefully one day I'll have the courage too.

It’s a case of your enemy’s enemy not being your friend. But it speaks to the tolerance of the LWS/GC side that they aren’t hounded out for “wrong think” even though I suspect many there would disagree with their politics. Have a view, I’ll disagree with you and - as long as no-one is breaking the law with regards hate speech - we’ll both respect each other’s views and move on with our lives.

Similarly there was a woman there yesterday who spoke against feminism. Again, many there didn’t agree with her but respected her right to speak and be heard. If she’d gone over to the TRA group and given a speech with a view they didn’t like there’d have had to have been a police intervention.

And we’re the intolerant ones? Hmm

I've seen it alluded to. But no proof. Antifa kinda scary tough so who's gonna come out with proof of anything regarding them look at Andy ngo you gotta be strong people

You know what's nice? Reading these words from a mainstream newspaper.

Womens rights event.
Womens rights demonstrators.
A large group of trans activists faced off with the women's rights demonstrators.

And finally:
Ms Keen is leading a campaign for the word 'woman' to be defined as 'adult, human, female' in law, but has been met with protests from trans activists.

We are getting there 🔆

Good. It’s a battle over language as well as the rest

See..
Womens Rally.
Transgender activists confronted gender-critical advocates.
women’s rights campaigner Kellie-Jay Keen.
gender-critical and pro-trans protesters .

Would have been worded so differently this time last year. Language definitely matters 🔅

I'll just post this here:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12145593/Whitehall-diversity-adviser-sparks-fury-calling-gender-critics-genocidal.html

A Civil service diversity adviser has been blasted for linking women's rights groups to the far-Right and suggesting they are calling for trans genocide. Saorsa-Amatheia Tweedale, the transgender ambassador for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), claimed fascists giving Nazi salutes had been 'welcomed' on rallies by so-called gender critical campaigners abroad.

She alleged that some leaders of the movement – who believe biological sex cannot be changed – have made 'statements of a genocidal nature'. And she called on her trade union to 'work with anti-fascist groups' to show 'what genocide can look like' within the 'anti-trans narrative'.

Surely them needs to be disciplined? Is it not against the Civil Service code to write politically motivated lies online, relating to their workplace?

They're overplaying their hand somewhat now!

They will be their own undoing!

BluebellBlueballs · 01/06/2023 14:47

We may have nazis turning up uninvited but TRAs have it worse, they've been moaning about the socialist worker lot highjacoing their protests!

BluebellBlueballs · 01/06/2023 14:48

Part of me does wonder if the 'nazis' are real or just a load of antifa in disguise to make terfs look bad

Unfortunately this just shows the damage done by the Indpendent (or was it the "i") printed this libel but after JKR pointed this out the article was edited. (There is a thread about this!)

I think in a tweet JKR implied she would help fund a court case if KJK wanted to sue.

Wouldn't it be great if a civil servant was sued for spreading misinformation and for libel / slander.
