Just that. Does anyone else think the increasingly violent scenes (such as recently witnessed in NZ) shows that the Koolaid gang realise the gig is up and are lashing out in fury and frustration?

Well erased from public view. Many lesbian groups have quietly gone underground to escape being harassed for sex and being endlessly lectured on how lady dick will definitely feel different in their mouths than penis. Many of those lesbian groups did initially try welcoming male people with TQ+ identities and found that it made the group untenable for many of the women there. Others really do not appreciate the behaviour they see on social media, in lesbian magazines like Diva, (how to have sex with a penis as a lesbian) and at Pride.

Driving homosexual women back into the closet, making it something you do behind closed doors and keep secret for fear of bullying and hate? It's not progressive is it? One of the women attacked in NZ by the mob was a 72 year old lesbian who'd come out at a time when homophobia was a serious thing: as she was protected by Christian Fundamentalist men (which staggered her somewhat), from the LGTB+ mob (her own people by name....) she realised she'd never experienced hate or abuse like this. Her account is on the radio phone in from last week.

While I do think there are people involved in this who are essentially misogynists, or are homophobic, I also think it's important not to underestimate the numbers who are truly and deeply convinced they are on the right side of history, protecting the marginalized.

They remind me a little of a concept that is found in the Eastern Orthodox Church, called prelest, or "spiritual delusion." This is a kind of very sneaky way that they believe Satan tempts very holy people, by convincing them that some evil idea is in fact good and deeply important. And the conviction that they are on the side of Good, and also that people in general see them as good, makes them extremely dangerous. They are difficult to dissuade, will take extreme measures, and will suck other foolish people in with them.

The cause of people falling into this state is supposed to be pride, and the remedy, humility.

This is interesting.

The woke are as we know exclusionary and have captured the institutions.

People want have their own world views.

I know since early 2015 when I noted this whole issue I have doubled down on my religion.

It's interesting that those who are contrarians (saying they are the opposite sex) are the ones getting more violent when they have the media and politicial class pushing their world view, rather than the true oppressed rebelling.

IMO I think Australia and NZ are more supportive of LGBT rights than the UK is. When an anti-trans event is planned, there will be greater resistance in Aus/NZ than there would be in the UK.

The NZ media and PM have spoken in support of the protestors and against KJK.

You're right, the media and politicians are absolutely complicit in allowing TRAs to get out of control.

So true. Not sure how that pp can post as if it’s a good thing.

They’re becoming more violent because police all over the world have shown that they aren’t willing to enforce any laws against trans people. Even when under political pressure the police issued an arrest warrant for one of the attackers, they still phoned him to tip him off so he could leave the country.

What needs to happen is for a huge number of misogynistic police officers to be fired and replaced with police officers who understand that they are there to enforce the law not make it up when they feel like it. Until then, women-haters will become more and more violent towards women for the simple reason that no one is stopping them.

Or alternatively we know there are higher rates of domestic violence and misogyny in Australia and New Zealand so the appalling violence was less unacceptable for them.

I do think we are definitely progressing in this fight and that’s why they have upped their violence. But we women are 50% of the population and this hateful ideology trans is so disliked by the general population. We are winning and they know we are.

The counter protestors at KJK and other counter-protestors are made up of both women and men. Look at any still of any footage of counter protestors and you will see plenty of women.

I also don't think it's accurate to say the general population dislike transpeople, especially amongst the younger generations.

I don't see much M/F divide (apparently women are actually more likely to be supportive of transpeople than men are) but there is definitely more support for LGBT rights as time goes on.

nilsmousehammer · 04/04/2023 00:09

No one said 'dislike trans people' - it was 'dislike trans ideology'. Not the same thing.

Support for LGBT rights - well I'm L, it's not fucking supporting me, it's homophobia on crack. The lie is that it still means LGBT people, it's been the trojan horse because people believe that it's all supporting all LGBT people. It doesn't. It now means political ideology. Which is homophobic and anti women. The populace is catching on to this fast.

The populace is NOT increasingly supportive of battering women and removing child safeguarding.

DemiColon · 04/04/2023 00:59

I just wanted to note with this, it's also become part of a political ideology that seems to go well beyond what all people who fall under the LGB+, or even just the the LGB, subscribe to or agree on.

I've watched a few of the main groups in towns and cities I go to, and it's become very weird that they are pushing pretty partisan political idea, which all the active members seem to support. Some are tangential, things like surrogacy, but in other cases it seems totally unrelated, like immigration.

I know that in fact there are a ton of people who could be included in that identity group who do not have those same political opinions.

It's like "Rainbow" has become a whole political ideology which happens to include thinking your sexual identity is a really important part of how you interact in all social situations.

This is absolutely fascinating, feels 100% nail-on-head amongst some TRSOHers I have encountered, and that people recognised just such a phenomenon centuries ago is just wonderful!
