And it will take you all the way to Bournemouth.

(My friends DiL has a DSD. Her particular chromosome disorder comes with various health problems including heart. It seems very wrong to trivialise illness/disability.)

Intersex inclusive train launched in Dorset

A Train operator that serves Dorset has launched the UK's first-ever Intersex-Inclusive Pride train to show support for LGBTQ+ colleagues and…

I really am not being snarky but nothing in the article says how intersex people are included on the train. Is it just the symbol on the flag?

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 28/03/2023 23:57

So it’s a Train with a circle painted on it. I suppose train operators are naturally inclined to virtue signalling.

RiktheButler · 28/03/2023 23:59

"Intersex" - which is a dreadful expression used when people mean DSDs- has literally zero connection to Trans. None at all

All DSDs are sex/gender specific

TheMarzipanDildo · 29/03/2023 00:05

How is that inclusive?

Did Ed Miliband get a random pink bus to encourage women to vote Labour once or did I dream it? I remember feeling patronised…

Whatsnewpussyhat · 29/03/2023 00:05

I didn't realise people with DSD's were excluded from travelling by train.

That person on the photo dressed in white looks like someone off a piss take comedy sketch.

ReadersD1gest · 29/03/2023 00:05

What the hell is intersex inclusive? Are intersex people banned from using normal trains, then? 🙄

FordCreek · 29/03/2023 00:16

Where’s all the money coming from to fund this I wonder? It’s being pushed from somewhere.

IcakethereforeIam · 29/03/2023 00:20

I.....?.....it......er......what?

Wel I for one think Borat has done a great job building a new career, especially with the ongoing political issues with Russia. 😏😉

Justme56 · 29/03/2023 00:37

The person in white with the little goaty beard (pronouns she/they) is the designer of the intersex part of the pride flag - basically added a yellow triangle with a purple circle from a flag designed by someone else several years ago!

FrancescaContini · 29/03/2023 00:39

Embarrassing virtue signalling.

Foreversearch · 29/03/2023 00:46

FFS as far as I am aware the cohort that need inclusion in respect of train travel are people with a disability and possibly pregnant women and people with very young babes/children. DSD, Sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, gender reassignment etc. are not relevant when travelling by train. Toilets are unisex so no issue.

People with DSD have my sympathy, they are continually being dragged into a debate they want no part of.

Boiledbeetle · 29/03/2023 01:08

On its first run, the newly designed train was crewed exclusively by LGBTQ+ staff.

firstly it's not newly designed. It's had a paint job!

Any intersex staff amongst them? Or did their virtue signalling not get that far.

Plus how discriminatory towards heterosexual women and men. So much for inclusivity!and what about staff who have a GRC and therefore to put them on that shift would have outed them as transgender (although they would most likely have announced it many times)

Apollo441 · 29/03/2023 01:31

Given that these things are mandatory these days, how come there are no PoC in the photo? Were they so busy ticking one diversity box that they forgot?
Tut tut.

funnelfan · 29/03/2023 01:59

Is… the grey haired person behind the white suited person doing a white power hand signal!? Surely not?

Coyoacan · 29/03/2023 02:10

Where’s all the money coming from to fund this I wonder? It’s being pushed from somewhere.

In this case, I think it saves them money. They don't have to genuine things that would include people who often cannot use the service because of their disabilities. They just painted the train and ticked the box

They seem to be. I await our regulars t o denounce the staff, and the train as it's definitely adjacent to that hand signal.

EpicChaos · 29/03/2023 02:49

Benjamin blobsworth did one on GB News yesterday!

postop · 29/03/2023 05:18

If I was a person who depended on a wheelchair to get around I would be so fed up and disappointed about this. It is just virtue signalling and they don't care at all about providing better services for people with disabilities.

SinnerBoy · 29/03/2023 05:47

Goodness me. What a waste of time and money, shouldn't they be spending it on improving their lateness statistics?

Clymene · 29/03/2023 05:57

the sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) human rights framework

That's a new one on me. Is that just another attempt to pretend a load of things which aren't covered in the Equality Act should take priority?

HagoftheNorth · 29/03/2023 06:08

Hmm, SOGIESC, I wonder where that came from ?!

Clymene · 29/03/2023 06:10

It's the new lgbtqia apparently according to the UN. More inclusive. .

olvxska · 29/03/2023 06:41

I think this needs letters of complaint one to South Wester Railways & Dorset Echo explaining the term is ableist and trivialises serious conditions such as Turner syndrome and Klinefelter syndrome, send them to DSD Families. Tell them it promotes misunderstanding of health conditions and makes disabilities into identities, you can't identify out a disability.
If you're in the area served by the trains complain to you MP as well, my MP is on the transport select committee complaint will be incoming - he loves bashing the trains as well.
I also sent on about KJK in NZ.
