'drumming overhead for the last hour; chanting, shouting, fake sirens; people waiting outside for us to come out, protesting that lesbians are meeting without men present. They have come to violate our space and “teach” us a lesson in compliance.'

'The police advise there is another exit. They have blocked the road outside, have erected tents. They are waiting for us.'

'I am so angry A woman has said her rapist is in the protest outside I am SO ANGRY Lesbians cannot meet without men punishing us with violence in 2023'

Solidarity with the women meeting today. I'm so bloody sorry you're having to navigate this shit show.

Why aren’t the police moving them along if they are threatening to teach people a lesson and causing trouble instead of suggesting a back door exit for the people being harassed?

Because nobody can say no to the rainbow mob.

This cannot be allowed to happen.

Why does the first tweet from these arseholes say we will not let our queer community be divided? The lesbians have left you, now fuck off and leave them alone.

Has everyone got out of the venue OK?

The amount of LGBTABCDEFGHJK++ groups they've got available to them, that will validate them as much as they like, and they've still got to attack the one group that is for same-sex attracted women only. They just cannot leave women the fuck alone.

What do they think they're achieving exactly? As if protesting and intimidating lesbians is going to suddenly make them snap out of their homosexuality and desire entitled blokes.

'I am so angry A woman has said her rapist is in the protest outside I am SO ANGRY Lesbians cannot meet without men punishing us with violence in 2023'

Jesus christ. Slow hand clap the dyke project, you've backed rapists over women.

Of course they have. Their instinctive response to a group of women saying "no" is to ignore their right to remove consent.

EndlessTea · 25/03/2023 18:28

FFS.

This is infuriating.

Why?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 25/03/2023 18:31

This does my head in. Men protesting a group of lesbians meeting because the women won't sleep with men. The very essence of rape culture.

StephanieSuperpowers · 25/03/2023 18:36

Rape culture but make it progressive, as the young people might say.

Backstreets · 25/03/2023 18:38

Shameful! The absolute audacity, the sheer brass balls of these heterosexual men, “reclaiming” slurs as if it weren’t their kind who has always used them AGAINST actual lesbians in the first place, going out of their way to harass women who would dare to convene without them, followed by moon eyed young women who think they are fighting gender norms while acting them out in the starkest, bleakest way. God it’s all so depressing.

When I talk to younger millennial lesbians they will bemoan the death of lesbian bars in one breath and go TWAW in the other, insane to me they see no conflict there but I am pretty sure experience will catch up with them in the end.

ArabellaScott · 25/03/2023 18:45

'The group outside use a disco ball with a fuse as their logo. It looks like a bomb. Their language is violent. They are protesting against old, young, vulnerable & strong women; lesbians who just want to meet up, have a cup of tea, share ideas & have a laugh'

Well this is blatant homophobia.
The women need to start calling up the police and reporting the many hate crimes which are occurring right outside their door.

nilsmousehammer · 25/03/2023 19:19

Lizzie You might be interested in the account from the two lesbian partners who were speaking live in the group waiting outside the police station for KJK recently.

One was assaulted at a let women speak event, this was witnessed by a police officer. She told the police officer she perceived it as a hate crime based on her being homosexual. He shrugged. The other received appalling messages on her phone, so visual evidence, with awful racial abuse including pictures of monkeys. She reported this as a hate crime. The police shrugged.

They are interested only in hate crime if it is reported by special men.

Davros · 25/03/2023 19:22

One tweet says this is in Keir Starmer's constituency.
Was it? He is my MP. I'd like to know if it was local

LizzieSiddal · 25/03/2023 19:22

@nilsmousehammer thats just absolutely sickening.

nilsmousehammer · 25/03/2023 19:26

LizzieSiddal · 25/03/2023 19:22

@nilsmousehammer thats just absolutely sickening.

This movement has fucked over homosexuals through their own movement and charity, it has fucked over democracy and impartiality in government, it has fucked over impartiality and trust in the police, it's brought homophobia and male supremacism and racism full on and claimed it as justifiable and righteous, and now it batters women in public places while screaming abuse and threats.

Thank God the general public are now seeing this for themselves. The past few days has been like a live performance of terfisaslur.com

SapphosRock · 25/03/2023 19:35

This is fucking awful.

Solidarity to all the lesbians there and thank you Julie Bindel and Kathleen Stock.

Looks like it was here:

'Mary Ward House Conference and Exhibition Centre WC1H 9SN'

'Tavistock Place is in the London region of England. The postcode is within the Bloomsbury ward/electoral division, which is in the constituency of Holborn and St Pancras.'

Wow I'd not heard about that.

I shouldn't be surprised by the contempt the police showed to that lesbian couple but there's still a part of me that wants to believe it's a 'few bad apples' despite all the evidence to the contrary.

IwantToRetire · 25/03/2023 20:04

(boring fact, and yet another glitch in the forum software MNHQ has landed us with - if you add the @ tweet name in a post, the whole post is then not published because the twitter name in not in the MN index - seriously MN?)

ie change the # in the name above to a @

Soubriquet · 25/03/2023 20:07

I wish I could say I’m surprised but tbh I’m not.

Anything that is exclusively women is always going to be hijacked by men.

They cannot stand the idea that women can survive without them

lifeissweet · 25/03/2023 20:10

It is 50/50 because it's lesbians saying no and because Bindel and Stock have their names attached.

Those two women are never going to be able to hold a meeting or attend an event anywhere ever without this crowd of violent thugs rocking up.

I am in utter despair.

Datun · 25/03/2023 20:10

Why isn't this a hate crime?

Intimidating homosexual women so they stop meeting. Why isn't this a homophobic hate crime.

StephanieSuperpowers · 25/03/2023 20:12

You can't be homophobic against women! That's not how it works.

ArabellaScott · 25/03/2023 20:13

StephanieSuperpowers · 25/03/2023 20:12

That's right. Their homosexuality is cancelled out by their being women. So as ever, anything fucking goes. Especially if it's super special men doing the homophobing.
