Dan Wootin is vile, though. A gentler, more articulate and intelligent interviewer could have made paste of benjamin whothefuck. Instead we have a showbiz gossip shouting at him. Not ideal, but at least some sort of point was made.

Always worth remembering that the reason he’s called Buttergasp and the gif exists is because he gasped dramatically and called Bev Jackson transphobic after she stated that no one is born in the wrong body.

He’s a horrible sneering man who follows whatever the populous is doing and abuses women while doing it. I couldn’t have any less sympathy and couldn’t give any fucks about him being “hectored”.

Ben hasn't seen fit to post a clip of the interview on his own twitter but he has posted clips of other people he clearly thinks have had far more successful interactions with journalists and the media generally, he knows he made a fool of himself.

The segment I watched was really revealing. Ben didn't look at or address the women he was seated with, just the man.

He now says it’s ‘common sense’ to keep rapists out of women’s prisons.

Previously he would have shouted down, spoken over, gasped and gesticulated, if anyone said that.

When he says ‘it’s common sense’ in the clip, he says it as though he thought and said this all along, which he clearly didn’t.

I find that baffling.

How can he be so unaware that he has done a 180?
