Tiffany Scott 'not a threat' - justice minister

These people are stark raving mad.

'"This changes on a regular basis but it is my understanding there are no transgender women in the female estate that have violence against women convictions.'

Fucking WHAT?!

Perhaps I'm reading that wrong?

'Mr Brown told BBC Radio's Good Morning Scotland programme no trans prisoners with a history of violence against women were being held in female prisons.
He also said that none of those was considered a threat.'

He is or isn't including Tiffany Scott in these people?

'The minister added that, in exceptional circumstances, a trans woman could be moved to the female estate, but that would require the approval of Scottish ministers.'

Since when?! Is this a new rule?

"You cannot insist on that right if you're a transgender woman or man, to be placed in the estate where you want to be placed.

"It will only happen as a result of a multi-party assessment, a rigorous risk assessment that goes on and that is what determines where people are placed."

Someone put the 'rigorous' risk assessment up on Twitter yesterday, I believe.

It's not the word I would have used.

Dolatowski. There for two sexual assaults against girls, and deceiving their way into a female refuge with women and children present. (And thumped a male prisoner in the male estate before being moved to the female estate.)

Bryson. Cleared for take off with two rapes of women.

Eastwood: murdered a cell mate. Are we seriously going to try arguing there's no threat because the cell mate wasn't female??

NecessaryScene · 30/01/2023 12:01

Scott's not in the female estate yet, I guess?

I think this is very much a careful "present tense" formulation - they have been in the past, and we want there to be more in future, but sadly, at the moment, they're a bit short.

That seems to be what the Justice Minister is claiming.

You actually have to run the test. If you've never imprisoned a violent dangerous lunatic with women, you don't actually know if he'll be violent to them. Maybe it's just men he's got a problem with.

Might turn into a fluffy little lamb when surrounded by a positive feminine influence.

Got to be worth a try, eh?

ArabellaScott · 30/01/2023 12:04

Well, no.

Yep! 'Can you please all stop making a fuss and drawing attention to this shit show so we can get on with what we plan to do anyway?!'....

OllyBJolly · 30/01/2023 12:05

It's breathtaking, isn't it?!

They are either totally clueless or they think we're fools.

The issue is reporting. The reason that there are no stats on transgender crime is because they are not recorded. They are treated as if they were women. Which they are not and thank fuck people are beginning to wake up to this now.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 30/01/2023 12:05

Careful choice of words and Andrew Burns is waiting for transfer.

NecessaryScene · 30/01/2023 12:06

Well, no.

I'm still practising at feministing. Maybe I'll get the hang of it eventually. It's hard remembering that women are people!

Helleofabore · 30/01/2023 12:07

The case was initially due to be heard at Alloa earlier this year, but was dropped after an internal report warned Scott was "too dangerous" to be tried in public in the Victorian court house there.

From the daily record article.

Yet .... was approved to go to a female prison..... Let's see that assessment!

I read on Twitter Dolatowski has been released quite recently.

They're doing slight of hand semantics here based on a narrow current snapshot.

Graham & Scott - moved/transfer on hold due to backlash
Dolatowski - just released so doesn't count
Eastwood - violence was against other men so doesn't count.

It is quite something that Scott was once known as 'Mr Almighty'....

He added: "I wouldn't say Mr Almighty was predictable. That wouldn't be the word.

334bu · 30/01/2023 12:08

Strictly speaking Tiffany is still in male prison although transfer was imminent. Also significant he said those convicted of violence against women, because with so many cases of unreported domestic violence, does this mean, if a man is extremely violent to other men but not women , they are safe to be in a female prison🤔

Boiledbeetle · 30/01/2023 12:09

I don't think their bar for what sort of man can be in the female prison estate is set at the right level!

Doesn't matter whether you people in charge think they are a risk. Ask the Fucking women because the answer is EVERY MAN IS A POTENTIAL RISK AND THEREFORE THE ANSWER IS NONE YOU BLOODY MUPPET.

No men in the female estate.

Helleofabore · 30/01/2023 12:09

I think that Scott is a great example of just how that 'assessment' works.

The one we have been told would only ever be done by experts and professions who know their job.

ditalini · 30/01/2023 12:09

It's so odd than when the "be kind" brigade wang on about "fully transitioned" accountants being no risk and surely there should be exceptions, the SPS are determined to get the most violent offenders into the female estate - zero tolerance to this shite is the only thing that will stop them trying to get this stuff through.

DarkDayforMN · 30/01/2023 12:10

So he's possibly technically correct if you word it carefully enough to exclude the prisoner who was violent against a man, and exclude the TW who assaulted young girls not women, and exclude the TW who was just kicked out of the women's estate, and exclude the TW who's just about to be admitted to the women's estate.

Is he half weasel?

I would like to know this: if no one is tracking the TW with GRCs how does he even know if he's technically correct?

<Sarcasm font> They're only females, and bad females at that, so it's totally fiiiiine to shove a few dangerous men in there with them, who gives a damn what happens to female prisoners? <End Sarcasm font>

(I reminded myself of the TV show Bad Girls, and wonder how they would have dealt with the issue. Better than the Scottish Govt, probably)
