Independents standing in local elections need to get their name out. Gussie and her Merkin will need help from people willing to leaflet or to knock on doors. I am at the other end of the country so no help, but did see her in Edinburgh and am envious of anyone in megaphone hailing distance. She will be a terrific campaigner.

Perhaps the LibDem thing is that they hope she will erode some of the SNP vote, letting them in. Cynical as they are just as gender woo as SNP.

I’m visiting some people who live in the area today. Will be having one or two conversations about Elaine standing.

Given her crowdfunder is full, is there a safe way to contribute money to Elaine’s after party for volunteers. It would be great to see her get lots of help and visibility.

(And a win might cause politicians to take Posie and other GE candidates seriously.)

Off topic but I need to sell my late mother’s flat, but before I do so I am trying to push through important outstanding maintenance on the block. Those with the most money seem the most resistant to spending any, and the politics are brutal. One neighbour works in the same field as Elaine so I mentioned I innocently that I had seen a physiotherapist/comedian at Edinburgh. Instant envy. This GC thing works better than a Masonic handshake. There is open invitation to Elaine should she ever visit Dorset.

I was passing though that area of Edinburgh today and stopped at 3 different supermarkets and all the chairing shops so I could talk about her.

might visit mr mother in law more over the next month.
