Education for Women's Liberation One Day Conference 4 February 2023

Just announced last night - after a three year gap (no doubt partly due to covid pandemic) another conference at UCL in London, organised by UCL Women's Liberation Special Interest Group and WPUK. FiLiA and Southall Black Sisters also involved. Anyone thinking of going? buytickets.at/womansplaceuk/817449

I usually go with friends, but not this time. To be honest, you normally end up separated. It's all very very friendly.

Not at all. With this sort of conference you just sit there and listen unless you actively want to ask a question. There are also quiet rooms available to withdraw to if you need time out.

I'm on a highly protracted journey via a lift share and two buses going past me full and an 8 am train tomorrow.
All words out of my mouth in my panel tomorrow will be "wibble wibble".

A friend just contacted me to say there are going to be TRA protests. Any ideas about how to keep safe? It's my first time at an event and I've not encountered this before.

I think these dopes protest at all feminist meetings. It’s a bit of excitement for them. But they shouldn’t be able to do any harm. There will be security. And there are lots of us together.

The first time I went to one of these (3 years ago at their previous conference) I hung about for a bit, found a group of strident women heading in the same direction and asked if I could join them to walk in.. I was a little scared too.
One of those women is a now a very good friend.
Don't worry though, there'll be security.

And if the Black Nappies are there they'll just end up peaking 10,000s more of us across the world.
