Yes! She's fabulous. Really pleased 😍

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/12/2022 17:47

People in Sheffield won't have nonsense. They got rid of Clegg after he proved to be a worthless turncoat, after all...

Abccde · 04/12/2022 17:47

I would love to have a good local candidate where I live.

The Labour Party members have made the right decision I think.

And with Izzard there would always be the distraction because he thinks its OK for him to use female facilities.

AgentProvocateur · 04/12/2022 17:47

Great news.

Teamsaction · 04/12/2022 17:48

What a relief

xalo · 04/12/2022 17:50

Fantastic news!

Dreikanter · 04/12/2022 17:58

Eddie seems to have sanitised Eddie’s Twitter timeline.

Maybe too busy prepping to play that well known womanly sleuth, Sherlock Holmes?

HatThatWearsYou · 04/12/2022 18:01

Great news!

RoseslnTheHospital · 04/12/2022 18:05

I'm glad a local woman won, rather than a showboating parachuted-in "star".

bellinisurge · 04/12/2022 18:06

Best news. I'm guessing she plays Labour Lip Service to the TRA cult but at least she's a woman and at least she's committed to Sheffield.

LondonWolf · 04/12/2022 18:06

Great news!

MrsTerryPratchett · 04/12/2022 18:06

From her website:

I’m the daughter of a Yemeni steelworker. Growing up here during the 1980s and 90s I experienced the pain and poverty caused by the Tories.

I left school with 4 GCSEs, but through hard work and access to education made possible by a Labour Government.

I qualified as a teacher and then as a lawyer, while working full-time in community development.

I mean she's clearly qualified in a way Eddie couldn't fathom.

randomusername02 · 04/12/2022 18:06

Anyone know what the vote count was? Exactly how much did Eddie izzard lose by?

WarriorN · 04/12/2022 18:06

Wonderful!

canyouextrapol · 04/12/2022 18:08

That's a relief. Glad the worthy candidate won. Hope it was a landslide

Giggorata · 04/12/2022 18:08

Delighted.

She's the best WOMAN for the job.

Abtisam Mohamed’s win comes after local Labour sources told The Star she was the favourite in the area to win, despite Eddie Izzard reportedly being the favourite for those at the top of the party.

What a surprise, that the top of the labour party wanted trans Eddie instead of an actual woman.

Babdoc · 04/12/2022 18:09

Excellent. Now she just needs to explain to her party leader what a woman is.

MarshaBradyo · 04/12/2022 18:09

Great news

Also keen to know this :)
Well done Sheffield.

There seems to be debate over who came second at the moment. This might - might - be the latest on that:

twitter.com/tomorrowsmps/status/1599464088727277568?s=46&t=DLpUjzvAc0q-ejoSebgZww

"I'm now fairly confident these are the actual figures for Sheffield Central:
Abtisam Mohamed 433
Eddie Izzard 175
Rizwana Lala 173
Jayne Dunn 64
So Eddie Izzard came a poor second, but only just."

Also:

twitter.com/tomorrowsmps/status/1599464775427141632?s=46&t=DLpUjzvAc0q-ejoSebgZww

"Lala was Left candidate - happy to be backed by Owen Jones."

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 04/12/2022 18:12

Well done to her - and to Sheffield.
