She has just tweeted that she is appealing the decision to dismiss her claim against Stonewall in her recent case.

No news on if a garden is needed to be seeded though!

Well, you do the summoning, and things start to vanish ...

AgathaSpencerGregson · 10/06/2023 15:16

Having checked I see that Wright was indeed junior counsel for stonewall at the ET. I would not expect a change, but let’s see.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 10/06/2023 15:45

Wow, even daft analogies get deleted.

MishyJDI · 10/06/2023 19:45

But...I thought she had won?

What did she not win on?

pattihews · 10/06/2023 20:02

The tribunal panel decided that Stonewall hadn't caused or induced Garden Court to persecute her — which they quite clearly had. So Allison is appealing that part of the judgment. We look forward to the reappearance of the support dog, the support mother and the support solicitor.

But you're right, she won the rest including punitive damages.

Your support animal will explain it to you.

Oh Mishy, how we've missed you and your nonsense.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/06/2023 00:38

But...I thought she had won?

Why do you think she's only contesting Stonewall and not Garden Court Chambers who were found to have discriminated against her on the grounds of her protected gender critical beliefs?

Brisland · 11/06/2023 03:05

I wonder if, this time, I will get to hear about a support chameleon?

😂😉

SpinCityBlues · 11/06/2023 13:26

The other day I picked up an empty banana box in Lidl to take home. DP did his daft wee humphy face Confused and asked me what I wanted it for. (I think he's secretly terrified of accidentally imported spiders.)

I told him I needed it as an emotional support box, and hugged it all the way home in the car.

He's aware of the Allison Bailey hearing shenanigans so at least I got a laugh out of him. I love it that 'emotional support [thing]' has entered the lexicon.

I also have an emotional support pebble.

Signalbox · 11/06/2023 14:22

Ha ha me too.

ResisterRex · 11/06/2023 14:30

The emotional support dog was the moment I knew it had reached a wide audience. DH couldn't believe it and made a point of telling me about it!

Not the Stonewall case yet, so don't get too excited Smile

If there are any lawyers around, could you elucidate?

It means they get to decide how much the company Allison worked for have to pay.

If it's a lot, it highlights that they are ultimately a) companies are financially responsible for any crap that third party organisations peddle in their workplace and if it's wrong that can be costly - it's the 'due diligence' test if you will b) if this is particularly high then it will make anyone using Stonewalls services sit up and take notice as they are ultimately stung.

Now given that the judge ruled that Stonewall didn't have any liability...

pattihews · 28/06/2023 15:22

Thank you. Presume they have to wait until the window for an appeal has lapsed before they can award costs. Will wait with interest.

FigRollsAlly · 29/06/2023 07:14

Allison’s latest email says that Tribunal Tweets will be covering the costs hearing today. Not only is Allison applying for costs to be awarded against Garden Court but they are applying for costs against her.

SpinCityBlues · 29/06/2023 07:20

Thanks. More stress for Allison, then.

AmbleInAnnBoleyn · 29/06/2023 07:23

Thank you for the updates. As always the process is the punishment. Best wishes Allison and team.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 29/06/2023 07:25

Like the many many rape and murder threats, they're a feature and not a bug.

ArabeIIaScott · 29/06/2023 07:25

Sending good thoughts to Allison and team today.

Spamtomorrow · 29/06/2023 07:37

How does this costs thing work? Does anyone know how it makes sense that GCC are asking for her to pay costs when they lost?

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 29/06/2023 08:12

Wishing Alison all the best today

It's typical to do so. It comes down to the merit of the case really (and the mood of the judge). Lawyers are being lawyers in asking this. They naturally have a vested interest to not want to pay her costs.
