She has just tweeted that she is appealing the decision to dismiss her claim against Stonewall in her recent case.

No news on if a garden is needed to be seeded though!

It just you how fake their liberalism is; rubbishing a black working class lesbian.

I'm really disgusted.

ILikeDungs · 30/06/2023 12:21

Oh. Has Twitter changed so you can only read it if you have an account?

Followed much of TT yesterday, just tried to read the rest and can't get in without signing in!

IcakethereforeIam · 30/06/2023 12:32

I think it has, I'm having the same problem.

ILikeDungs · 30/06/2023 12:38

Damn and blast. Am not making an account so that's me stuffed.

IcakethereforeIam · 30/06/2023 12:43

Me neither. Hopefully they'll change it back, but if they don't it's not the end. Could I ask that anyone who posts a tweet might also post a screenshot if you can. Thank you.

Redshoeblueshoe · 30/06/2023 13:09

It doesn't resume till 2. So that's the only tweet there is

Tallisker · 30/06/2023 13:20

Oh I wondered why I could no longer so Twitter. I read the morning's TT account and tried to read the afternoon's, but haven't been able to. I wanted to hear what GCC said about TT.

It was restricted before Elon Musk bought it, then was gloriously free to read anything. Shame it's no longer available.

I daren't have an account.

lanadelgrey · 30/06/2023 09:05

Yes. If the one TT I met is anything to go by - retired secretary from generation where ‘nice’ girls were encouraged to divert their brains away from university and towards shorthand and speed typing - then I’d be absolutely furious as I’d be comparing hourly rate for my skills against the amounts the GCC lot get

THIS. TT should absolutely bill GCC - and make the invoice public e.g. via a newspaper.

dimorphism · 30/06/2023 13:23

Ditto on twitter. I'm not having an account, will be disappointed if it remains restricted (surely it's against all the free speech stuff Elon's been talking about?).

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 30/06/2023 13:26

You can always sign up and just lurk. You don't even have to follow GC accounts - you can just look up GC hashtags, if you prefer (leaves no trail within your public account, if you're worried about doxing). The whole site has gone full T**F since Elon took over and it's rather wonderful. Now that people can speak freely, it's so obvious how little support the gender crazies have.

HarpyValley · 30/06/2023 13:27

You can sign up using a burner email, you don’t have to use your own name or link a Twitter account to any other of your social media / email addresses.

Very pleasing to hear. Maybe it's worth rejoining.

Tribunal Tweets have put the whole thing up on their website (so no need to go near Twitter):
https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/allison-bailey-v-garden-court-chambers

Allison Bailey reported £765,000 (approx) of costs having crowdfunded £500,000. Garden Court Chambers estimated £760,000 to defend the employment tribunal.

At a wild guess, I imagine Stonewall must have spent a few £100k so far too.

Claim and counter claim for costs - unusual in an employment tribunal

RedToothBrush · 30/06/2023 14:29

I read twitter only. I don't post.

Makes for a peaceful life.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 30/06/2023 15:03

I don't really want to hit GCC with extra costs but on the other hand I'd like Allison to not have to pay the 265K that isn't covered by her crowdfunder. So I hope GCC do have to pay that part.

Aren't these cases eye-wateringly expensive?

Justice just isn’t affordable to most.

I would like GCC to pay the majority of Allison’s costs. That would also help fund her appeal over Stonewall.

whilst I appreciate people saying Allison could do what she wants with any crowdfunded money left over, I would like to see it go to other court cases fighting discrimination on the same grounds. Or, LGBAlliance’s costs for their case.

IWillNoLie · 30/06/2023 16:21

It seems crazy that not only do you need seemingly huge amounts to get justice, even if it is found in your favour you can be hugely out of pocket.

BellaAmorosa · 30/06/2023 17:13

Do we know when the decision will come through?

chilling19 · 30/06/2023 17:21

Maya has now got over £100k compensation, so here is hoping Allison does too.

I agree. It seems to me like it's really stacked in the employers' favour, given that they are normally a company of some description.

Plankingplanks · 30/06/2023 17:47

Sorry I got lost in this.... When are we correcting a decision?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 30/06/2023 17:49

I've just read Maya's recent Tweet.

'I have received the "remedy" judgement in my case.

@cgdev has been ordered to pay over £100k in compensation for loss of earnings, injury to feelings and aggravated damages for their high-handed conduct.

Thank-you to everyone who supported my case'

DarkDayforMN · 30/06/2023 17:58

Absolutely. The cheek. Even if they have no respect for Allison Bailey, they ought to have respect for the court.

I wonder if there was some kind of legal-world snobbery operating? Maybe since they're fearless fighters for criminal justice and human rights and all, they've got no respect for an Employment Tribunal?
