I've been a long time poster on Mumsnet, but recently in the last couple of months I feel like I can't say anything anymore. If I attempt to say anything that isn't in lockstep with gender ideology, my account seems to get removed. Can anyone please help me with a code to Ovarit?

I really don't want to leave Mumsnet as I’ve developed a very strong connection to this website, but I feel like me and my views are no longer in line with Mumsnet’s HQs thinking and it's progress too far in the wrong direction. I’ve met some beautiful and wonderful women in my time here, and it’s a shame that I feel like I’m being made to leave.

Farewell, and thank you all for the wonderful memories, and to all of my friends.

OP posts:

To those who asked why the OP’s message raised my hackles and made me wonder if this was an infiltration attempt (and with apologies to the OP if they are genuine): a number of phrases used are not standard MN language or shorthand, so it sounds to me like someone who is claiming a long posting history without evidence of it in their language. Am not going to list specifics for obvious reasons!

It is instinctive to make those assessments, isn’t it? Over time you start seeing a pattern that makes you take notice.

Doyoumind · 26/08/2022 08:20

OP has no posting history and refers to 'Mumsnet' several times which I doubt any long term user would. If their account had been removed, which I doubt, they would be a PBP. There's been a rise in visitors and in gullible MNers.

As an aside, 4chan isn't particularly GC.

They were probably thinking of Kiwi Farms.

Iadorerain · 26/08/2022 08:28

Please Catan on mumsnet, this is a really important forum for bringing issues to the wider population. This is how I became aware of the problems with trans activists erasing women’s rights . And safeguarding issues. The moderating has kept the conversations civil and readable. I understand now why it’s quite severe. But it’s woman friendly unlike Twitter which is horrible.
please keep posting on mums net, this is the source of the sunlight we need.

Also I haven’t noticed the mods getting stricter. I wonder what sort of person would like to anonymously get codes for another forum? Disruptive influence perhaps

Helleofabore · 26/08/2022 08:34

Did I read correctly that snark was not allowed for a time yesterday? I wondered if it is just a cultural difference that my snark doesn’t get understood and I need to up my game….

Love a live demonstration.

Doyoumind · 26/08/2022 08:38

I don't think the mods have got stricter. The period when they were strict stripped us of the most interesting posters and discussions. Then they changed the board. Now things are much quieter and less engaging.

Aren't you simply demonstrating the poster's point by reporting?

Iadorerain · 26/08/2022 09:03

Funny how easy it is for us who are socialised to be kind get sucked in! This a a demo how ‘be kind’ let us give our rights away in the first place.

looks like ovarit needs to be braced for incoming! I

Helleofabore · 26/08/2022 09:05

And another live demonstration.

What is your point, by the way?

That people shouldn’t report users they find suspicious? Yet, that is exactly what MNHQ want us to do rather than engage in toll hunting.

A regular on FWR knows this. They will have either been deleted and reprimanded by email for troll hunting or seen the posts discussing those deletions.

Maybe you go to a different school.

Helleofabore · 26/08/2022 09:12

That was to fresh newly minted poster names merseygirl and clock by the way. Not OP or ladorerain.

Maybe try an incel support group @GreyCouncil? Don't forget your box of tissues.

Farmageddon · 26/08/2022 09:22

I have been browsing Ovarit for the last while, didn't realise you needed to be invited to join. Is that to stop the TRAs infiltrating?

And as far as moderation here goes, I was fully banned a few weeks ago for using the three letter acronym, even though I hid it in innocuous words. I didn't even give any opinion about whether it was right or wrong, good or bad. The fact that I mentioned these three letters in the same sentence (albeit I bolded them for effect) got me banned. So we're not even supposed to mention something that we know exists. What a load of shit.

Yes, and you would think, given the recent legal victories upholding GC views as acceptable, they would loosen the chains a bit.

Helleofabore · 26/08/2022 09:25

TBF that modding around AGP has always been the strictest.

Athenajm80 · 26/08/2022 09:33

I haven't noticed any more modding on FWR than before, but maybe I'm on the wrong threads? I do think the deleting due to those letters is ridiculous as it's a proper condition. Referring to ADHD wouldn't be deleted and that can be just as divisive at times.

However I haven't heard of Ovarit but having had a quick look now, please may I have an invite? Hopefully my posting history is good, and my Twitter handle is @athenajm (feel free to follow me and if you let me know you're from here, I'll follow back)

Iadorerain · 26/08/2022 09:33

TBF I think the strict moderation is necessary to keep mumsnet FWR boards at all. The TRAs must lick their lips every time they spot a post that they can complain about / report to the police for being mean and giving them hurty feelings.

Tallisker · 26/08/2022 09:53

I'd like to join if I may

IloveHolby · 26/08/2022 09:54

Why is it banned to mention AGP? There are Transwomen who agree that this describes them and helped them understand themselves and their experience.

picklemewalnuts · 26/08/2022 10:05

There's another problematic three letter acronym. The one some people prefer to Transwoman.

Perhaps that's the one in question?

I don't have a particular issue with the modding here at the moment. I mean, it's not free, and definitely favours Be Kind above science. I find it workable though. Maybe I'm not trying to say anything that interesting 🤨

The point ism that just because they complain about something, doesn't mean it needs to be pandered to by MN. Common sense seems to go out the window when the TRAs bleat on about 'hurty feelings'.
