If you you are on twitter, contact @ scot_feminists and tell them where you are coming from and they will put you on touch with women from regional groups who are travelling on to Edinburgh. If you are local they will put you in touch with local women so you don't need to approach the rally by yourself.

does anyone think it helps to write to MSPs to explain I would have been there too? I've done this in the past & been ignored....

YES! Absolutely.
For a start you can't let them claim they never hear of this from constituents.
Then, there will be a vote of all MSPs at the end of the stage 1 of the GRR Bill, in early Sept, so they need regular reminders women are watching. And you vote.
Ask them to come out on 15th and speak with you, or other constituents.
Ask them if their party is going to vote whip votes for the GRR Bill.
And contact all 8 MSPs,.not just the ones you like, they all get to vote.

Absolutely, because they should all be in Holyrood that day, ask them to come out and talk to you, before, during or afterwards.

Doesn't matter if your MSP ignores you (and you have 8 MSPs remember, not just 1), we need to make sure they can never say they don't hear from constituents about this topic. Always ask, and ask them specific questions so you have a reason to expect a response.
There is always the Code of Conduct they need to comply with. While they don't have to take on your case, they should be telling you why. Write back and mention this :www.parliament.scot/msps/code-of-conduct/section-8-engaging-with-constituents#topOfNav
