I don't really know what my views are on surrogacy as I'm just learning more and more about it. But that picture looks sad!

And I think the word surrogate is used wrongly. The woman carrying the baby is the actual mother, not the surrogate mother.

The surrogate is surely the person who takes the baby from the actual mother.

I think it's because the baby us in the background and they are just looking at each other. Normally baby is the focus?

Narcissism in a photo.

I know nothing about "maternity shoots" but I'm guessing that this photo had a fair bit more planning and organising than "Hold still and say cheeeese!"

You'd think that somewhere along the line, even the most blinkered, self absorbed, navel gazing individual might have looked around and realised that the optics aren't great.

If you look at the tiktok of the person who posted the photo, you'll see it was the surrogate mother who planned the photo shoot and posted it in social media. She's happy with it.

She's made a decision about what she wants to do with her body and time, and how she is recording and sharing it with social media. How is that chilling? What am I missing?

Really not understanding the issue with this picture. A woman is willing to be a surrogate, is probably making pretty great money from it and the baby is going to loving parents who want it. The parents want to do a photoshoot and have included the surrogate in it. Maybe I’m just missing something

It's a photo from a photoshoot- they are just following instructions from a photographer. I imagine they're lots of pics where is at the front, centre stage etc too but they've posted this as it's their social media.
